One year of Rocky Rawse.
One year of taking myself seriously, trusting my voice, building my platform, and growing into the woman behind it all.

365 days of betting on myself.
Of showing up when it would’ve been easier to stay small.
Of creating with purpose.
Of learning in public.
Of trying to make content that HELPS someone else feel seen, inspired, or more confident too.

I took a chance on me — and that will always be one of the best things I’ve ever done.✨

And to everyone who rides with me, supports me, and trusts me — thank you. Thank you for growing with me, encouraging me, and allowing me to show up fully as myself for you!

And to my friends, my day 1’s - thank you for clapping so loud for me from the minute I said I wanted to do this, so loud I couldn’t even hear anyone who wasn’t. For that, I’m forever grateful.

One year down. And we’re only getting started. 🤍✨

Last year, this wasn’t just one of my favourite events of Carnival weekend… it was one of my favourite moments, period.

In the middle of all the fetes, Freetown Collective created a space that reminded me what Caribbean culture is really about—music that tells our stories, community that feels like home, and a room full of people singing every word like they lived it.

It was joyful.
It was grounding.
It was spiritual.

If you’re looking for something different this Toronto Carnival weekend, this is it.

“Last year was great… but we’re chasing greatness.”

That line from Encour couldn’t be more fitting.

To every single one of you who’s liked a video, shared a reel, trusted my recommendations, laughed at my jokes, watched my carnival adventures, or simply hit follow… thank you. You turned a dream into a community, and I don’t take a single one of you for granted.

60,000 of you. Sixty thousand stories, conversations, laughs, and moments we’ve shared together.

We celebrated milestones, built confidence, represented our culture, and proved that showing up as yourself is always enough.

But we’re not done.

I think everyone has a place that reminds them who they are.

For me, it’s somewhere between the waves, the rhythm of soca, and the feeling of stepping into a Carnival costume.

That’s freedom.
