It’s been a week since we made our launch announcement, and we are blown away by the support and generosity y’all have shown us! Whether you’ve liked, followed, reposted, shared, donated, or even took the time to check us out, we thank you. Meet Rocky, the namesake of our new cat rescue and our resident guardian angel 👼🌈 A former well-loved colony kitty, he got to enjoy 7 months of pure indoor bliss before passing from FIV in December 2025. In his honor, Rocky’s Refuge will serve as a cozy beacon of light to cats and kittens in need of TNR, medical care, and forever homes. Every feline friend deserves a soft, loving place to land, and as our rescue grows, we aim to facilitate exactly that! With years of combined experience as a team, we hope you’ll follow along and join us on our journey to becoming a pillar in the wonderful community of Houston cat outreach. At the link in our bio, you’ll find options to donate to our nest fund and our supply wish list! Any contributions and/or interaction with our page is greatly appreciated as we get started! Stay tuned for updates & lots of kitty content. It’s what Rocky would want 🐈🧡 #cats_of_instagram #catrescue #houstoncats #cats_of_instagram #catlovers taken in Rainbow Bridge by @rockysrefugehtx

Congratulations, Oliver! From merely surviving on a random porch with his little family to a loving home with a built-in big sis, we’re thrilled to watch this scrappy little guy grow into the spoiled house panther he deserves to be 🧡🐈‍⬛ #adopted #adoptdontshop #blackcat #halloweencat #rescuecat taken in Eado by @rockysrefugehtx

Meet Rory’s siblings! Mama is a calico and daddy is a tux, but the calico genes are SUPER strong with these babies! We can’t wait until these babies are ready for adoption 🧡 #adoptdontshop #kitten #calico #cat #catlover taken in Eado by @rockysrefugehtx

Looks like Rory has 4 MORE SIBLINGS! Until now, we had only seen two kittens total from this litter. We are still trying to trap Mom, Dad, & the last kitten from the previous litter. Wish us luck tomorrow! We’ll be armed with more chicken 🍗😅 #adoptdontshop #tnr #catrescue #kitten #catlover taken in Eado by @rockysrefugehtx

We’re not giving up on Smokey! It’s going to be tough, but we WILL get him off the property by any means necessary. Your donations for his medical care are reserved and ready for him once he’s in our care! Manifesting a seamless rescue mission from here on out 🤞🧡 #catrescue #adoptdontshop #communitycats #cat #catlover taken in James Bute Park and Frost Town Historic Site by @rockysrefugehtx
