Another trip to London, and I’m still finding new things to see. “You Are a Tourist,” Sometimes even a familiar place leaves you feeling like a visitor. Next time, I think I’ll return to Oxford. I’m getting tired of the London crowds.

A trip last month to Budapest and Vienna. Vienna is my favorite from the two having lived there a few years ago. If I could do another year in Vienna I would be content. The schnitzel and the pastries👍

Warsaw, from quiet statues in the snow to grand buildings rising into the fog, every corner feels layered with history, resilience, and pride. Poland has become one of my favorite countries in Europe, and while Kraków still holds the top spot for me, Warsaw offers its own powerful charm, and beauty. The food, the architecture, and the atmosphere made this a visit I will not forget.

Today I visited a former U.S. Army base that is a short walk from my residence in Frankfurt. The last time I was here was when I was an 18-year-old U.S. Army soldier, assigned nearby, and stopping in on official business. Back then, this place served as a military headquarters, and the statue by the pool was not there. Folklore has it that General Eisenhower’s wife, Mamie, decided it was not fitting for a U.S. military post.
Now it is part of Goethe University Frankfurt, and the sculpture has been restored. It is good to see how places change. What once served soldiers now serves students and ideas, and I am glad this space is helping people learn and move forward.
