Charleston you were charming! I would love to go back and enjoy the Lowcountry again.

Just as I was convicted that Jesus called me to Charleston in August, he has now called me away. I learned a lot about myself, how to minister to the youth and about working in ministry. I am grateful for the experience, but more so for the people that loved me very similarly to my faith community at home. Here is a glimpse of the people and places I’ll miss and hope to visit in the future.

Being Known

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. (Ps. 139:1-4)

I never realized how important it was to surround myself with family and friends. Now that I’ve spent two weeks away from those I know and that know me I have found myself uncomfortable and exhausted. Meeting my housemates/teammates has been fun, but continuously draining. I have had to stay observant to learn about their habits, what makes them laugh, what gets them angry, etc. We’ve already had minor challenges to face as a house and it’s interesting to see all of us in “conflict.”

I yearn for my family and friends that give me the space to just be and who already know me. No stress, no fuss just love. by @rodaslo2

Hey-oh, Charleston! I moved into my new place and met the rest of the team last week. I’ve been settling into a new room, people, food and town.

In just 8 days I can say it’s really humid, it rains everyday even if it’s just for a minute, there are rats that climb trees, cockroaches be roaming around, streets are narrow, and the ocean is gorgeous.

I hope to post weekly updates on my adventures here! I’ll keep things funny and Jesus centered cuz that’s what my life is all about! Pray for me, friends and I’ll be praying for y’all!! ❤️
