Clayton built, painted, and assembled his first bike. A complete build front to back— these wheels were even built by him a while ago. A Reynolds 725 Rodriguez Adventure with Trillium Big Squeeze brakes, 2x10 SRAM, Ritchey Comp fork, and Vittoria T30s the ocky way. Congrats Clayton! I can’t wait to see what else you’ll build! #savetherimbrake #steelisreal #rimbrakesarentdead #framebuilder by @rodbikes
Personally, I think the all-road is the perfect road bike for Seattle streets. It might be the closest thing to a quiver killer I can find. If it could take fenders + a descent-sized tire to keep the rough streets and light gravel comfy— I’m all about it. Anyway, here is an all-road with a beautiful fork, front rack, and the only dynamo headlight you’ll ever need. #allroadbike #gravelbike #steelisreal #framebuilder by @rodbikes
Remember that touring Rohloff one we build a while ago? This is the matching step-thru. Absolutely twinning. #steelisreal #touringbike #gravelbike by @rodbikes
Rodriguez makes the most S&S coupled bikes in the world. So, I wanted to make this one extra special. When I was touring in Japan, I stopped in to ride with some friends from Muller Bikes and saw they used externally spiraled tubing on a frame and I knew I had to have it for this build. The seat tube, top tube, and down tube all have splines spiraling along the length of them. -Di2 wireless 1x12 with hydraulic splitters on the brake lines. -Mavic 32h UST carbon rims with DT Swiss Revolite fluted spokes. -Apidura Expedition kit -Sinewave Beacon 2 headlight mounted on the Apidura bag -Full Speed Ahead cockpit (K-Wing AGX bars & SLK -12°) -Swiss Stop brake system -Knife on the Spork Fully ready for adventure anywhere #WILLTRAVELFORGRAVEL by @rodbikes
A beautiful weekend of yapping, riding, and yapping—a never ending stream of wonderful conversation. A lovely time as always to see all the out of state friends and to make new friends. Till next year! Thank you Billy! @souphorse PC: @salt.photo / @morajez #made2026 #framebuilder #gravelbike #steelisreal by @rodbikes
A bike that can literally do both. Hydro splitters so you can hot swap between drop or flat bars depending on how buck the trail gets. #gravelbike #steelisreal #hardtail #framebuilder by @rodbikes
A new dropout design, no visible brake lines in this full FSA kit, carbon spokes on the new Vision RS wheels, huge U shaped down tube, octagonal top tube, Swiss Stop brake system, a No. 6 fork, and a purple chain. There ain’t nothing calm about this bike. It’s aimed at performance. Come see this in person at the @made.bike show #gravelbike #framebuilder by @rodbikes
Rodriguez Highroller with 700x55 AND fenders. Rohloff, dynamo system, racks, and a chain guard. Custom means you don’t have to sacrifice tire size to run fenders. Build what you want. #touringbike #framebuilder #wheelbuilding #steelisreal by @rodbikes
Maybe you have a baller parts group already. Maybe the only thing left to upgrade is the frame itself. We can do that. #framebuilder #steelisreal #gravelbike by @rodbikes
Double that can do both. A 3 coupler tandem & hydro splitter for convenience. You and who??? #framebuilder #tandembike #wheelbuilder by @rodbikes

Ron Lewis (@omtm.cc) worked closely with Alder Threlkeld of Seattle’s @rodbikes to design a flat bar all-terrain go-anywhere bike made specifically to travel light along a not-yet-finalized route: the Cascade Volcanic Arc, an epic multi-day backcountry touring route that stretches from Portland, OR to Bellingham along the backbone of the Central Washington Cascades. This is not a bike review, but rather the origin story of a unique bicycle made for a unique purpose. Additinal photos: @jeff_f_street @connorazzarello by @rodbikes
