I’ve spent a lot of time this year thinking about what it means to build something with purpose. Not just for Anthony’s Decals, but for the businesses around us and the Yakima Valley they serve.

That thinking started with a loss. In January 2025, a fire destroyed the shop Anthony’s Decals had operated from for years. Five weeks later, I was back up and running out of an 800-square-foot garage, and I’ve been there ever since. That year taught me something I couldn’t have learned in a classroom: growth requires an element of risk, and the space to support it.

We’re building that space. We purchased commercial land here in Grandview, and today I’m excited to introduce Foundry Grounds at Port Point West.

Foundry Grounds is a multi-tenant commercial campus with flex and retail space, anchored by Anthony’s Decals and built to give other local businesses the same room to grow that we’ve been looking for ourselves.

I’m not doing this alone. My aunt and uncle, Tom and Sonia Hayes, are my partners in this project through HAYROD Holdings, an LLC we created with the community in mind: focused on giving back and creating opportunity in the town that gave Sonia and I our start.

Sonia is a proud Grandview High School graduate, Class of 1984. She and Tom spent nearly three decades building TC Trading Company in Blaine, a cold-storage and supply-chain business that grew to more than 100 employees before they sold it in 2024. When they looked at what to do next, they chose to come home and invest in the community that shaped them.

We’re just getting started, and we’d love for you to follow along. If you or someone you know is looking for a space to grow a business or a home for an organization, there’s an interest form at foundrygrounds.com. Sharing this post helps too.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Anthony’s Decals in any capacity. Here’s to what’s next!
