This year didn’t arrive with answers. It arrived with questions.

What does success mean when the life that looks good from the outside no longer feels right on the inside? How long can you keep giving pieces of yourself away before you stop recognizing the person who remains? And what happens when you finally admit that you want something different?

So I began to listen.

I listened to the part of me that wanted to create, to tell stories and to build something that felt like mine. I listened when my body asked me to slow down. I listened when certain people, places and ambitions no longer felt meant for me.

There were questionable decisions and a necessary plot twist or two. There was overthinking. There was disappointment. There were moments when I felt completely lost.

But there were also evenings by the harbour, good meals, long conversations, unexpected laughter and friends who reminded me that life doesn’t have to be extraordinary to feel deeply meaningful.

At 31, I’m not celebrating having everything figured out.

I’m celebrating the fact that I no longer need to.

I’m learning to trust what feels true, to make room for the life I actually want and to stop measuring my worth by how much I can carry without breaking.

This year, I didn’t become a new person.

I simply came a little closer to myself.

Lately, I’ve been finding joy in the simplest things.

Celebrating a friend’s birthday by the harbour. A good meal. Conversations that linger after the sun goes down.
