One of my favorite shoots I’ve done. I really see this as a combination of everything I’ve learned since starting this whole photography journey a few years ago. I used to get so nervous trying to put myself out there and all that, reaching out to people, executing an idea… but idk I guess I’ve just done it enough times now to know when something magical is about to happen.

To anyone who has been a part of the journey, thank you so much. Even something as sharing a seemingly meaningless interaction over the internet is greatly appreciated. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: there are real people behind the algorithms and behind the screens. So truly, thanks yall. All of you have helped that scared little child in me blossom into the person i am right now.

Big thank you to June for making this happen, one of the kindest souls I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I was very nervous going into this (as I am with every other project), but after the initial awkwardness that comes with meeting strangers over the internet, I knew that we were about to make something really cool happen.

Big thank u to @imjuliangutierrez as well for agreeing to join me last minute as a lighting / bubble man assist.

A collection of photographs from my last days in Southern California and my first week in my new home: Oakland. I've dreamed of moving up here since my mother first brought me to visit the city back when I was around 6 or 7 years old. I remember being enamored by the streetlights and the hues of green, red, and yellow in the trees. I'd never seen buildings so tall, and I can distinctly remember being amazed at the notion that a city could be a melting pot for so many different cultures.

That early impression stayed with me. I grew up in a city of immigrants; you could safely assume that any person you encountered would understand what you were saying when you spoke Spanish, even if they didn't speak it themselves. Naturally, I couldn't believe that you could have all these people from different ethnic backgrounds living in tandem.

I'm leaving behind the home and family I've spent the past decade putting together, and yet I cant help but feel a quiet pull towards something different. So this is home for now. My heart is torn up - I wish I could tuck my loved ones into my pocket and bring them along, but for now we'll have to stick to phone calls and sending letters.

I want to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey down in San Diego / Southern California and to all of my loved ones for making it so hard to say goodbye. My heart is full. I can't believe the amount of love I've received in the last few weeks here. It all still feels surreal. by @rogeliobolo

Some of my favorites from my photoshoot with @supercoze. I got to photograph a local artist from Oakland. One of my favorite people I've met throughout this entire photography journey. Cody has this incredibly warm and welcoming personality, and having their three cats circle around us as we chatted kinda just set the tone. It was a very chill night

My favorites from my first photoshoot. This was a pretty cool learning experience for me. It was my first time planning out an entire shoot as well as my first time working with a model.
