Roger (he/him)
Co-Director / Operations Lead

Roger’s dance story started at home—spinning in the living room as his sisters made him their bachata partner (replacing the broom mid-chores). He later trained in Mexican folklorico with his high school team and has since expanded into Latin partner styles, hip-hop, and heels. He finds inspiration in the unexpected—dancers who move to parts of the music others might miss, or artists who stretch the limits of form and expression.

Roger dances to break the mold. Being part of Orenda has helped him shed expectations around how “masculine” dancers should move. Now, his movement reflects a mix of strength, softness, and authenticity—and he hopes others watching feel free to move just as unapologetically.

Outside the studio, he’s a proud corgi dad (plus one honorary dachshund), loves to bike around his favorite city (Chicago, duh!) and has a deep love for cozy chaos and community 🫂 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @roger12196
