Bro @lazlaz125 invited me @havok for the most steepest, excruciating, hardest stairway to heaven hill, 1 mile climb with 1,971 ft elevation, man oh man was this tough but we did it twice , he invited us to suffer and we were up for the challenge, a total of 8 miles and some change, we did that, on Tuesday’s if anyone is up for the challenge lets gooo

Incredible experience and another reminder of why I love this running community. I met so many great people this weekend, and I’m grateful for everyone who made it such a memorable experience.

A huge thank you to @wildrunnersauburn for putting together an amazing relay and welcoming me onto the team. And thank you to @acg for coming out and being part of such a great event.

Special shoutout to @therunking and @havoksmhp for always pushing me to stay consistent and keep showing up.

Getting to run along parts of the Western States course was eye-opening. I’m just getting into trail running, but I can already say there’s nothing quite like it. Looking forward to seeing where this journey takes me. taken in Robie Point by @rogottii

What was supposed to to be 1 treacherous mile turned out being 2.5 miles, I blew past my exit and ended up on the whole other side of Robie’s point, either way I had a blast and learned from my mistake shoutout @wildrunnersauburn for such an awesome experience

It’s the life we chose. There is no finish line. 🏃🏾‍♂️⛰️

Getting the weekend started at an incredible 100-mile relay hosted by Wild Runners and Nike All Conditions Gear. What an amazing event and the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

One of the biggest highlights was joining the legendary Ann Trason for a one-mile celebratory walk honoring her remarkable career.

A multiple-time Western States 100 champion and one of the greatest ultrarunners ever, Ann’s humility is just as inspiring as her accomplishments. Sharing even a small part of that celebration was something I’ll never forget.

Then Yari and I headed to Olympic Valley to keep the weekend going…

That’s when I unexpectedly met Gordy Ainsleigh.

Back in 1974, when his horse couldn’t compete in the Tevis Cup, Gordy ran the entire 100-mile course on foot—proving it could be done in under 24 hours. That single decision laid the foundation for what would become the legendary Western States Endurance Run.

I introduced myself and eventually asked if he’d want to go for a run.

He smiled and said,
“Only if we run the south side of the Folsom Lake trails.”

I laughed and replied,
“You’re the boss—let’s do it!”

He chuckled and said he was too slow these days.

I’d only ever seen Gordy in documentaries. I never imagined I’d randomly meet him in Olympic Valley.

Sometimes the best moments are the ones you never plan for.
