went to the final regular season White Sox game yesterday. such a good day for a ballgame, so nice to end the season with the dub...and oh yeah, it's still not the end because there's still the playoffs ahead of us! #chicago #whitesox #nofilter ⚾ by @rogueclown

went to Hawthorne for the last time ever yesterday to gather my things from my desk. i still haven't quite processed that they'll never race again, and seeing the track still intact like this certainly didn't help me internalise that it was, in fact, the end.

part of me wants to say Hawthorne deserved better, at least a final race day we all knew was the final race day. but an even bigger part of me is screaming that Chicago deserves better. Chicago deserves a racetrack. those of us who work in racing, or just love to go to the races, deserve a place to call home.

Hawthorne has been just that for me, a place to call home, since that rainy day in 2013 when i ventured over to find out about that horse track hiding in plain sight on the southwest side. i know people for whom that's been true for even longer. and it hasn't sunk in that, after gathering my things yesterday, i'll never be there again. by @rogueclown

so much of 2026 is absolutely awful. it's still surreal and sad that i am not working a race card at Hawthorne right this moment. but one of the silver linings is that this has been one of the best years of seeing live music that i have had in a long time, and i am so glad i could make it to Wicker Park for @nightspicemusic 💙 by @rogueclown

@seconds_to_serenity opening for Cold at Bottom Lounge tonight. i hadn't heard of them before but they absolutely ruled and this will not be my last show. (for real, the first thing i did when they finished their set was get a ticket to their show next month at LiveWire!) by @rogueclown
