LEADERSHIP ALERT 📣

Ahead of our home opener this weekend, we are proud to officially announce the Rogue Valley Royals leadership group for the 2026–2027 season!

Alternate Captain | Jordan Murray

Hailing from Fairbanks, Alaska, Jordan brings a high level of experience, maturity, and skill to our leadership group. His previous junior hockey experience and steady presence will be incredibly valuable in helping guide a young Royals roster this season. We’re grateful to have Jordan in our locker room and proud to name him an Alternate Captain.

Alternate Captain | Max Fullford

Also from Fairbanks, Alaska, Max returns to the Royals after joining us via trade from the Seattle Totems last season. From the moment he arrived in Southern Oregon, Max’s positive attitude, work ethic, and commitment to this program stood out. He continued to demonstrate those qualities throughout the offseason and has proven himself as someone his teammates and coaches can count on. We’re proud to have Max wearing an “A” this season!

Captain | Dalton Ruettgers

Last, but certainly not least, your 2026–2027 Rogue Valley Royals Captain, Dalton Ruettgers!

A product of the Rogue Valley, Dalton has grown up in this hockey community and is entering his third season wearing a Royals jersey. Over the last two years, we’ve watched his game, confidence, maturity, and leadership continue to grow.

Dalton is deeply committed to this program, his teammates, and his craft. He understands what it means to represent the Rogue Valley, both on and off the ice, and we couldn’t be prouder to have a local player leading the Royals into this season.

Please join us in congratulating these three on their new leadership roles! We can’t wait to see them lead the way as we hit home ice for the first time this season.

If you plan to attend the games this weekend, snag your tickets today!

We’re excited to officially welcome Tevin Dominguez to the Rogue Valley Royals staff as our Strength & Conditioning Coach!

Tevin is a proud Native American, he grew up in Eastern Oregon, with sports and competition playing a major role in his life for as long as he can remember. His passion for pushing himself, and the people around him, to get better has made him a great addition to our program.

And his impact is already being felt.

Tevin has taken on a huge role in bringing consistency, accountability, and purpose to our players’ off-ice training and conditioning. But what he’s building goes beyond getting stronger in the gym. By getting our guys working, competing, and pushing through challenges together, he’s helping create the camaraderie and team culture we want within this organization.

Junior hockey development doesn’t stop when the skates come off. Building better athletes, better habits, and a stronger team takes work away from the rink, too, and Tevin has stepped in ready to raise that standard.

We’re incredibly excited to have him as part of the Royals family and to see the impact he continues to make throughout the season.

Welcome to the Royals, Coach Tevin! by @roguevalleyroyals_

HIRED: Steve Chelios!

The Rogue Valley Royals are proud to announce the hiring of Steve Chelios as our new General Manager!

Sometimes moving forward means getting back to our roots, back to the people who were apart of building the very foundation of junior hockey in Southern Oregon... back to those who believe in development, and understand why we do what we do. And for us, this one feels a lot like keeping it in the family.

The Chelios name may already be familiar to hockey fans. Steve is the brother of three-time Stanley Cup champ and Hockey Hall of Famer, Chris Chelios, whose remarkable NHL career spanned 26 seasons... But Steve has built an extensive hockey resume of his own; one that has been dedicated not only to playing the game, but to giving back to it and helping the next generation find their path.

Steve's playing career includes five years of Canadian junior hockey, 11 years of minor professional hockey, two NHL training camps, and six years of professional roller hockey. He has followed that with 18 years of coaching at various levels and has helped place countless athletes into college hockey programs. Through a lifetime in the game, Steve has built relationships and professional connections throughout the hockey world that can help open doors for players looking to reach the next level.

But what makes this hire particularly special to us is that Steve is no stranger to Southern Oregon...
15 years ago, Steve was the Head Coach of our very own Bobby Ruddle during Bobby’s rookie season of junior hockey right here in Medford. The impact Steve had on Bobby as a young player, and ultimately on the direction of his hockey career, is immeasurable.

Now, all these years later, things have come full circle.
