The one where I got my PhD 🥼🔬🧬

5 years and 7 months ago , I began my doctoral journey in molecular biology, with my research centered on immunology and the actin cytoskeleton. It’s been a rollercoaster of trial, error, and resilience that’s turned into the most rewarding adventure of my life.

Three weeks ago, I submitted my dissertation after three weeks of complete immersion - living and breathing, and barely sleeping with that document.

A week ago, on March 25, I sat for a 2.5-hour private oral defense with a panel of faculty who’ve been overseeing my thesis progress which was the culmination of years of work boiled down to one final examination.

And yesterday, I got to share the joy and science publicly with friends, family, and my university at my celebratory defense!

Feeling so grateful for this journey, lifted by my people, and ready for what’s next ❤️ by @rohinimm

#Ad #DellCollab @dell @intel From undergrad to juggling science, storytelling, and everything in between, Dell has been there for a lot of chapters. Loving the new #XPS13 for wherever life takes me next 💻✨ In my opinion, this is the best laptop for students and young professionals. Check out the link in my bio! #IntelCore taken in Washington D. Come along for a day in the life at the @lindaunobel Nobel Laureate Meeting!

Yes all 5 days were as nonstop as this, it was incredible immersion of scientific topics outside my wheelhouse, culture, and networking. Were you able to stay until the end of the vlog? Which part of the day would you have wanted to join? 👀 taken in Lindau Insel, Lindau (Bodensee) by @rohinimm

A week I’ll remember for a very long time! 🥼✨

I spent the last week at the @lindaunobel Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, surrounded by some of the most brilliant (and incredibly humble) minds in science. @nobelprize Laureates who’ve reshaped entire fields showed up to share the messy parts of their journeys and genuinely listen to early-career researchers like me.

I’m now on my way home with new friends, new ideas, and a renewed sense of why I fell in love with science in the first place.

Swipe through for a few moments from the week ☝️ by @rohinimm

Greetings from Lindau, Germany! @lindaunobel

I’m incredibly grateful to the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting for the opportunity and travel grant to be here, and this is only the beginning. Over the next week, I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes moments, conversations with Nobel laureates, and some of the biggest ideas shaping the future of science.

Come along for the journey. ✨🧬

If you want to know what the future of science looks like… it starts way earlier than we think.

Spending time with these students reminded me how important it is to invest in curiosity before it becomes a career. By the time we call someone a “scientist,” that mindset has already been built years earlier.
