London—>Avignon by train 🚝🇫🇷

I finally persuaded my partner to take a European trip by train. He actually booked and planned the whole thing himself, and it was perfect. Highly recommend a mini break in Avignon!

It’s been 8 years since I was last at university, and I’m late to the personal curriculum trend, as always. Still, I decided that I would build an autumn syllabus to organise my reading and follow my interests down their various rabbit holes. I am such a tigger of a reader, always bouncing from one writer to the next and on to the next shiny new interest, so I wanted to take the time to focus and really lean deeply into whatever has been scratching at my brain for years and has been as yet ignored.

Think Paris is the only city on the continent you can get to from London on the train? There’s so much more!

I recently took the train through France, stopping first in the pretty Flemish city of Lille before travelling on to Avignon. It was my first time in the south of France and it was as beautiful as they say.
