birds perch among olive trees
sun sunken low, hovering on the horizon.

Here we are among the bells
of the church
and the murmurs of the neighbors
i have come a long way
i’ve come along this way
and my heart carries a tune
but the words i cannot say.
Life carries this tune,
harmony, then dissonance,
always at the cusp of resolution
i suppose its up to me to find
the pitch that resonates
witness the beauty before it detonates
how much deeper can i love it all?
As i open up into this life,
will she love me, nourish me,
or bring me grief and strife?
The path is long and windy,
i know not where i go
but maybe i will hold it close,
and dream in the almost. by @rojavalle
