Strong?! 😅😅

#relatable #godsgrace #writersofig by @rolaemiola

1. Resting - I used to think pushing through everything made me strong.

2. Cancelling plans - I don't enjoy disappointing people. But I've learnt that forcing myself to show up when I'm not okay doesn't make me a better friend.

3. Asking for help - I used to hate needing people. I didn't want to feel like a burden. But needing help doesn't make me helpless. Even an army needs people.

4. Moving slower - My life doesn't always move at the same pace as everyone else's. And that's okay.

5. Crying - I cry. Sometimes because I'm in pain. Sometimes because I'm frustrated. Sometimes because I'm simply tired of being tired. Then I wipe my face and continue.

6. Saying no.

7. Having bad days - A bad day doesn't mean I'm ungrateful. And it definitely doesn't erase all the good days that came before it.

8. Not always being “fine” - Sometimes I am fine. Sometimes I'm really not.

9. My routines and boundaries - Some people may not understand why I do certain things. They don't have to.

10. Being tired - Sometimes my body feels like it has run a marathon when I've barely done anything. I've stopped feeling guilty for being tired.

11. My yellow eyes. I know I didn't take enough water, you don't have to tell me.

12. Talking about sickle cell - I shouldn't have to whisper about it to make other people comfortable.

13. Having limits - Sometimes my body is telling me, “Slow down”. I've finally started listening.

14. Hospital visits and medical care - I've stopped feeling embarrassed about needing a hospital, taking medication, etc. Taking care of myself is nothing to be ashamed of.

15. Celebrating small wins - "Getting out of bed. Making it to work. Going a whole week without a crisis. Showing up for church. Sometimes the things that look ordinary to other people are actually victories for me. And I'm allowed to celebrate them.

16. Taking my time to heal - I used to rush back to “normal” because I didn't want anyone to notice I had been struggling but healing can be slow. Sometimes it's messy. Sometimes you take two steps forward and one step back. It still counts.

17. Being choosy about my relationships.

18. Protecting my peace.

Almost exactly one year later… I’m back at @cci_ikeja 🥹🩷

Today was my first time at our new headquarters, and I honestly can’t explain how happy it made me to be there!

A year ago, I relocated to Yaba for an important phase of my life. I spent the year attending CCI Yaba, or streaming when I couldn’t make it to church (which happened more times than I’d like to admit🤫). CCI Yaba truly became home, and as Pastey said, “CCI is the same everywhere"!

The past one year also turned out to be one of the hardest year of my life. But somehow, here I am, back home, back at Ikeja, and back in church 🥳🥳

And the best part? I dragged my sister along😂

Finding the place was an adventure, we got a little stressed, but eventually had the most amazing experience. We even ended the day fruit shopping at Ogba Market 🤭🍊🍉

I’m praying this is the beginning of fully returning to church, service, and serving again📌📌

So help me, God 🙏🏽

Love note from my Daddy:
“In Your presence is fullness of joy” — Psalm 16:11 🥹❤️

I do not own copyrights to the music.

New hobby unlocked 🎨💜✨

Battling the most terrible flu today 🤧, and honestly, my brain could not focus on anything... So I picked up my colouring book and just painted 😂🎨

Nothing fancy, nothing perfect, just a little fun activity to keep me occupied and happy. And I actually enjoyed it🥹💜 Yay!

Maybe this is my sign to make more room for little things that bring me joy ✨

Love note from my Daddy:
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” - Psalm 37:4 🤍

Father's Day has passed. But this one deserves one more moment.
Most of us were never explicitly taught about money at home. We absorbed it. From what our fathers did under pressure, without letting us see the weight of it. From phrases said at the table that became beliefs we did not even know we were carrying. From the silence that told us money was serious, private and not for children to ask about.
Those lessons become the financial blueprint we carry into adulthood. The way we spend. The guilt we feel when we save. The anxiety when an unexpected bill arrives.
None of it is permanent. The patterns you inherited can be examined. What you understand, you can change.
Building wealth starts with showing up. Your father modelled that, in whatever way he could. Now it is your turn to build on it.

💬 What is one money lesson from your father, good or bad, that you still carry? Drop it in the comments.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆💙.

To every father and father figure reading this today.
Fatherhood in Nigeria is not a small thing. It is waking up every day and choosing to provide, to protect, to guide and to show up, even on the days when showing up takes everything you have.
To every father who has stretched naira further than it should go so his children would not feel the shortage.
To every grandfather who became a father again when he was needed.
To every mentor and father figure who poured into someone else's child as though they were his own.
You are not just building a family. You are building a legacy. And the seeds you are planting today, in the quiet, in the sacrifice, in the love you give without expecting credit, those seeds are going somewhere.
May God reward every father who is trying.
May He strengthen the ones who are tired, provide for the ones who are stretched and remind every one of them that their effort is not invisible.
We see you. We honour you. Happy Father's Day💙👔.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆.

𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙎𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙡𝙚 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝘿𝙖𝙮, 2026.

To every Warrior reading this, this post is for you.
Nigeria has the highest sickle cell burden in the world. Around 150,000 babies are born with the condition here every year. And research shows the monthly cost of managing sickle cell in Nigeria is approximately ₦76,711 per person, covering medications, hospital visits, blood transfusions and everything in between.
That cost does not pause for hard months. It does not take a break when the economy is difficult. It just keeps going. And most financial plans in Nigeria were never designed with that reality in mind.
Warriors deserve financial guidance that actually sees them. An emergency fund built for their reality. Insurance planning that starts early. A financial structure that accounts for the months when the body does not cooperate with the career.

You are not behind because of a lack of discipline. You are carrying something most people will never have to carry. And you are still showing up.
This year's theme is "𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘢𝘱". We believe that gap has to close financially too, not just medically.

To every Warrior who shows up anyway, every single day:
𝙒𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪.
𝙒𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪.
𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪.

💬 What is one thing you wish more people understood about navigating life and finances with sickle cell?

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲.

Closing 𝙈𝙚𝙣'𝙨 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 today with something practical.

What does it actually look like when a Nigerian man decides to take care of himself properly?
It looks like having a budget and following it because financial clarity is worth more than the comfort of not looking.
It looks like an emergency fund that exists so one bad month does not become a mental health crisis.
It looks like going to therapy, not because something is broken but because your inner life deserves maintenance.
It looks like saying no to what was never really yours to carry.
It looks like telling someone the truth about how you are doing.
It looks like asking for help before you hit a wall, not after.
None of this is weakness. All of it is extraordinary.

To every man who took one step this week toward honesty or toward help: that step matters. Keep going💜🤍💙
