May being AAPI Heritage Month means it's always a whirlwind and it always tests my limits. Physically and mentally.There's the constant pressure of feeling the need to show up for others. Dealing with not feeling Asian enough to lead. Handling the numerous requests for info/intros to other Asians/Asian-owned businesses.I try to show up. I try to support. I try to take space and make space for others.And then it's all worth it...It's worth seeing @nydiahan being honored as an Icon by @phillyaaff It's worth supporting @joeycarranza @shin_paaff @maestro.kris in their mission to keep @phillyaaff goingIt's worth seeing the students at @asianartsphilly being celebrated during the Spring Gala that I helped plan/produce via @com.unity.phl It's worth my daughters seeing more and more representation in all facets of their life. by @rolandbui

Feeling incredulously grateful for my girls to have had so many opportunities to celebrate Lunar New Year here in Philly 🧧🏮Loved to see them being so curious about the traditions (and me having to ask my mom or Google the answers...) and just being proud to dress in Áo dài to rep their Vietnamese heritage 🇻🇳Big shout-out to @jttw.phl @vietlishofficial @vietadelphia @misssaigonphilly @musho.cc for putting on this great event.Let's keep this going all throughout the year! by @rolandbui

Chúc mừng năm mới! Wishing you a joyous and prosperous Year of the Fire Horse.Celebrating Têt with family and friends while highlighting Vietnamese cuisine fills me with pride.And that's an unfamiliar feeling for me that I still have to get used to to be honest.Yes, I grew up with big family gatherings and traditions but it wasn't necessarily something I was embracing having grown up in Belgium as a token Asian kid at school.Yesterday, I got to see my girls beaming with pride to be dressed in their Ao Dai and fully enjoying being surrounded by their Vietnamese culture.It's an incredible feeling and I couldn't have asked for a better way to start this Lunar New Year.Lots more to say about the @com.unity.phl event but that's for another post. by @rolandbui

The lovely team @myrtlemagnolia sent me home from the Taste of America @beardfoundation event with this beautiful arrangement and I'm so grateful for them.Also grateful to be in the room last night with so many friendly faces at the @thebellevuephiladelphia 10-15 years ago, I used to go to these type of events and just speedrun them with 2-3 plates in hand. We just wanted to eat...Nowadays, it's mostly to catch up with as many people as possible in one night and congratulate them all on their most recent professional accolades or personal celebrations.The award-winning bites and drinks don't hurt either.It cannot be overstated how incredibly lucky Philly is to have all these gems.Thank you to my guy @hec_wooder_ice for letting me tag along.Congratulations to @cashmanassoc for putting this stacked line up of talents together for the night. by @rolandbui
