Week after week, she faithfully lead us into His presence, reminding us that worship is more than a song but it’s a posture of the heart. When putting a set list together, I never just randomly put songs together—and you shouldn’t either. I’m always thinking: What’s the theme? What’s the message? What do I want people to leave with?

Last week, I wanted to remind our members about the things God has promised—the things He said that we may still be waiting to see.

And while I was up ministering, I heard myself say something I had never said before:

“Promises don’t have expiration dates.”

Sometimes the words that come out of my mouth are words I’m hearing for the first time, too. And that one ministered back to me.

Then I got home and started seeing people from service taking that same message to their socials—posting it, quoting it, and sharing what it meant to them.

That’s when I knew it didn’t just land with me.

Just because time has passed doesn’t mean the promise has taken in The City of Love by @rolandjack

My name is Roland Jack, and I manage a quartet group.

If you had asked me three years ago if I would be managing a quartet group, I probably would’ve looked at you and said, “WHAT?!”

But here we are.

I often hear people say to Lisa Knowles Smith & The Brown Singers, “It’s simply your time.” And I agree.

As often as I fly—and that’s often—I get a notification on my phone that says, “It’s YOUR TIME to fly.” This weekend, those words meant a little more.

Watching these ladies headline festivals, minister in and out of the rain, and continue to walk into rooms and opportunities that once seemed unimaginable reminded me of Ephesians 3:20:

God is able to do far beyond what you can ask, think, or even imagine.

I wasn’t asking for this.
I wasn’t thinking about this.
I certainly wasn’t imagining a season like this.

Now, anybody who knows me knows I can find a “word” in just about anything—and this time, it was the luggage.

RAPID TRANSFER.

I looked at those words and immediately thought about this season. Things are moving. Doors are opening. Opportunities are coming.

It took years to get here. Years of singing, serving, sacrificing, showing up and staying faithful. The journey wasn’t rapid—but the transfer can be.

It reminded me of Amos 9:13: “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim… everything will be happening at once.”

Sometimes the “word” is in the sermon.
Sometimes it’s in the song.
And apparently, sometimes it’s on the luggage.

So, my name is Roland Jack. I manage one of the top-selling and most-awarded female quartet groups of this generation—and I’m glad about it.

Had a few people over tonight! They started screaming when they saw me lol.

The Browns and I are stuck together - real bad! After an amazing night @thestellars they called me. @iamlisaknowlessmith wanted me to know how proud she was of ME!!??? Me 👀?

WHY?

Yes, I was that kid who asked “why?” after almost every statement. What I later realized was that I wasn’t just being inquisitive—I was searching for intent and purpose in everything.

Surely, if you’re doing something, there has to be a why.

Most things I do have intent, purpose and strategy—and most of the time, there’s a story attached.

Fast forward to my Stellar Awards look.

The mauve suit and shirt combination came from Memphis, TN—home of the Brown Singers.

The black lapel pin came from Emline, a New Orleans-based designer—a city that has become an important part of my story.

The glasses came from a Houston company—the city where I was born and raised.

None of it was random. Every piece told a part of the story.

“Why?” is a great question—when asked at the appropriate time.

Sometimes we get so busy doing that we never stop to ask what’s driving the decision.

Stop just doing. Ask yourself: WHY?

I rarely participate in #WorshipWednesday, but I ran across this clip on @itscatherine_2u’s socials and it made me reflect.

The team at @thecityoflovenola — @tcolworshiparts — has come such a long way, both as a musical unit and as a family. Sometimes I stand in awe of how far God has brought this ministry—from just a few willing people to multiple teams serving, growing, and worshipping together.

And a special thank you to Cat Lee, @itscatherine_2u. Her voice is incredible, but I’m even more grateful for her leadership—the way she serves, leads, and helps carry the vision of this ministry forward.

It’s an honor to minister alongside this family and, every week, to also be ministered to by them.
