It’s the weekend 🤘🏻

I have some work left to finish up(just about 5 chapters of beta reading that I didn’t get to this week), and then I’ll be working on finishing up Primal Hunter before gaming!

I started playing Date Everything! this week and it’s adorable. It’s not my usual game genre, but it’s been a lot of fun!

I’ve been working with books for over 5 years now and I’ve gotten to read some incredible LitRPGs that went on to be published. It’s such a fun genre and I still can’t believe I get to be a part of the process.

August was a bit all over the place with back to school time and setting up a 504 plan for my kid. Lots of appointments and meetings 🫠

I only managed 2 books this month plus a few for beta reading. My beta reading busy season is just about ready to start so that means a bit less kindle time too ✌🏻

I think my only plan for September is to keep reading Primal Hunter. I’m not even going to bother with a tbr 🤣

Behold. My breakfast. And my kindle while I was waiting for the kids to be out of school.

I honestly haven’t been reading much outside of beta reading which I can’t really share here. So, here’s food I guess?

I’ve been pretty burnt out with real life stuff and I’m not the type of person to force myself to read. I have been reading more Marvel comics and gaming though so life is good ✌🏻

This is a different format for me and I’m not sure I’ll do it again 🤣 It feels weirdly personal for bookstagram, but it’s also life and things tend to feel better with company. I know it helps me to know I’m not alone with this type of struggle so maybe someone else with resonate with this.

Happy Tuesday!

I’ve been so out of it lately. School started, 12yo auadhd is still deep in autistic burnout. Queue meetings, therapy appts, trying to get his 504 plan in place. But we’re on day 2!!!! Of him going to school.

I should be working, but instead I grabbed Starbucks, I’m listening to fall themed Skyrim music and playing ffxiv.

I’ve been reading The Notebook: A History of Thinking on Paper by Roland Allen and I highly recommend if you’re into planning at all. It’s definitely convinced me to start a zibaldone.

First day home alone in months and I am enjoying it ✌🏻

Husband went back to work after having all summer off(cooks at a college), all 3 kids are at school(one has auadhd and I’m lucky if he makes it twice a week) and even my sweet cat, Percy, was less annoying that usual. I feel so refreshed 😭

Finally back to getting to read in the school pickup line ✌🏻

So 12yo auadhd kiddo did not go to school today (the other two did great!) I’m not totally surprised, but I was hoping that school refusal was behind us. I was nervous about how his new school would react, but they were SO kind. We’re in the process of evaluation through the school now to see if he would benefit for either an IEP or 504 so wish us luck.

He was so stoked for middle school, like genuinely, and he’s frustrated his brain isn’t working with him, but he has a great support team so hopefully we can figure this out.

I had high expectations for this one since Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite story, and I have a very fond place in my heart for vampires. I was not disappointed! The atmosphere was purely gothic right from the start and I adored Clara immediately. I appreciated the strained relationship between Clara and her father and Clara and her betrothed. I also just had zero idea how I would ever find myself rooting for her and Raleigh, but that definitely happened.

“I feel more alive with you than I ever did as a human.”

The relationships here were my favorite, as well as the side characters. Everyone was more than what they seemed at first which made things fun near the end. I love slow burn romances and I think it was done really well here. I think my only complaint is that I wish that Clara and Raleigh had some more quiet moments together, but I also loved the face pace. I read this in just a few sittings, I couldn’t put it down.
