I don’t like to take credit for the success of the athletes I coach. But some things need to be chronicled, and I promised you I would. You all do the work; I’m just there to help pick you up when you fall.

When I took the job at Western, I looked up the roster and did as much research as I could on the athletes I would be inheriting. I saw a young lady with all the physical tools I look for in an athlete. I turned to my wife and told her I thought I could help this Myia Dantzler girl become a national champion.

Upon arrival, I quickly learned there was more to coaching than timing, programming, and understanding the human body. Our first few encounters were rough 🤣. She cried on the first day of practice 🤣🤣. I believe that was a wake-up call for both of us. She knew I wasn’t going anywhere, and I knew I had to prove myself to her.

I accepted the challenge…

Myia is an exceptional young lady. Truly. From the promises made to the staredowns mid-practice, from the tears shared to the ugly cries controlled 🤣, I’ve gotten to watch you grow. I learned very quickly who Myia was; her personality made sense. I think that’s the thing a lot of people ignore: learn from someone, and do what you can to accept them. If you’re bothered by something, have the conversation. Myia and I have grown to trust each other, and I think that’s what made it work. I was going to hold her accountable, and we were going to communicate.

Young lady, you are everything you ever thought you were and more. You will be great and do great things! You’ve established for yourself what the standard of your life will be. Because of that, you’ve accomplished everything you set out to do. Literally, I’m not sure there’s a goal you didn’t achieve. Four school records later, you’ll understand this in a few years: the results never really matter. It always has been, and always will be, about the journey. So keep “Chasing Your Greatness,” young lady, because the woman you’re becoming matters most.

Year 4…

More than ever, I am reminded of your essence. This year of marriage has felt like an awakening. The things I often take for granted reveal themselves to be my greatest blessings. Anna, you bring so much to our relationship that it’s getting harder, to express how deeply connected we are.

We continue to weather storms together, we preserve, we laugh, we grow, and we cry. We slip and fall, become broken, and then heal again. We experience confinement only to be unleashed. Experiencing everything with you is the only way I could have ever imagined it.

I often share with others that the man I am today is entirely a reflection of you, my beautiful wife. While everyone sees the finished product, only you appreciate the journey it took to get here. You have been my unwavering champion, fiercely standing by my side, demanding the best from me, and intentionally and lovingly grounding me in my truest self. A partner like you is a rare gift, and today I am reminded of what a blessing it is to have someone who not only sees me but also challenges and accepts me wholeheartedly. You are my dream.

I struggle for nothing; I feel fulfilled and nourished by your love. Today, I say thank you to my wife for giving me all the strength to become everything I am becoming. I am great because I am supported by an even greater woman.

I love you more than words can ever express. For now and forever, my actions will reflect my love for you, loving, supporting, evolving, and inspiring. We have always found a way, so today let us celebrate choosing to pursue love together.

Happy Birthday to the Mrs.

For years, you’ve helped me grow, and being your husband has been the one thing that has challenged me the most. There’s no hiding with you. You’ve pushed me to work on myself, to be diligent in how I handle adversity, how I handle success, how I speak to you, how I speak about you, and how I condition people in my life to treat me. You’ve pushed me to more, challenged me mentally, and accepted me through every evolution of myself. I am forever grateful.

This season of life feels like every dot has connected perfectly, and I know 1,000% it wouldn’t have been possible without you in my corner all these years. People see the finished product, but no one sees behind the scenes the way you do.

Thank you, Anna, for being you, for loving me unconditionally, supporting me, and believing wholeheartedly that we will always find a way.

As you step into this new chapter of life, I’m incredibly excited to see what God continues to do in you and through you. You deserve everything and more. There is no one more selfless, more thoughtful, more intentional, or more pure. I can’t wait to watch you take the gifts, care, and patience you’ve given to others and finally begin offering them intentionally to yourself.

You are simply incredible, and seeing you prioritize yourself has been the most fulfilling chapter in our story so far. Take time for yourself this year. Explore the little girl inside and let her light continue to guide you, my love.

Exceedingly & Abundantly….

The power of manifestation is real. The first interview I landed this summer was for a head coaching opportunity. While I didn’t get the job, it gave me the conviction to believe I was destined for something greater. I’ve learned the universe communicates in many ways, and it’s important to use discernment to distinguish between purpose and distraction, calling and ego. This summer provided me with just that.

I told Anna my goal was to lead a program. I am incredibly grateful to have been given that chance in only my second year of collegiate coaching.

First, thank you to my family and support system. My vision is a direct reflection of our family standards, and every day, I aim to represent us all with honor. From my mother to my mentors, brothers, and sisters. Thank you for believing in me and inspiring me to Chase greatness.

Thank you to every young person I’ve had the privilege to coach thus far. Your belief has given me confidence, and you are each a vital piece of this puzzle. I will always cherish the lessons you’ve taught me, both on and off the field.

To my beautiful wife: none of this would be possible without you. Amidst the chaos, you have grounded me, and I notice all you do. I promise to keep the promises young Naron made. I am better with you, and this season of manifestation has only deepened that belief. I love you, and I’m so grateful for you.

Lastly, to my new Fort Scott family: thank you for this opportunity. Coming back home to build upon the foundation laid by previous coaches is an honor. I promise to give this place my all! by @rollinsnaron

What A Year.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to express my gratitude to my athletes. You all made this experience truly special for me. I learned so much this year, and that would not have been possible without your commitment and support throughout the season.

We faced many challenges together, and it was inspiring to watch you grow closer as a team. Your resilience in the face of doubt and criticism empowered me. I worked hard because of all of you; I studied more, and to be honest, I matured because of your influence. I always aimed to be a positive example, and as I step away from this place, I hope you feel that I’ve left you with something meaningful.

It was an absolute honor to be your coach this season, and there is no other group I would have rather gone to battle with. Together, we proved the doubters wrong and made Western Sprints known.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Kim, Que, and Elizabeth. Without your constant support, meaningful conversations, and belief in me, I’m not sure I could have made it through this season. Thank you for creating a safe and comfortable space for me, and for allowing me to see you three as you truly are.

Lastly, a special thank you to my wife. Your unwavering belief and support this year have reinforced my conviction that marrying you was the best decision I ever made. You embody everything it means to be a coach’s wife, and I am a better leader because I am assured by a greater woman.

As I look ahead, I am uncertain where life will take me next. However, I know that as long as my intentions are pure and I lead with my spirit, God will take care of the rest. This season was all the affirmation I needed. I am becoming everything God has called me to be.

Over the years, my definition of love has transformed. In my youth, I believed love to be simple an expectation of the beautiful parts of life remaining consistent. I soon realized this was a mirage. The universe blesses us with moments of rainbows and blooming flowers, and it’s crucial to be present and embrace them. While many days feel like a movie, the reality is that love is challenging. It’s about doing and saying uncomfortable things, setting aside ego for understanding, and showing up every day, even when it feels impossible. Love calls for brutal honesty, even when the message may not be received well. It means wanting more for someone than they want for themselves and holding them accountable to the potential you see.

Love is finding joy in the little things, moments often taken for granted. It involves thoughtful gestures that reaffirm our bonds. Love is enduring storms, standing tall together through adversity, and granting each other the space to grow with the trust that this evolution is for the better. It may require sacrificing your own happiness during certain seasons, knowing that if the love is genuine, the pendulum will swing back, reminding us of our deep connection.

This is the profound love I have cherished since the very first day our paths crossed. I am endlessly grateful to walk this journey with you. My best friend, my partner, my confidant, my lover, and my dearest friend. In the moments when I needed love the most, God brought you into my life, illuminating my days with your presence. As we celebrate three wonderful years of marriage and eleven beautiful years of genuine friendship, I reflect on what love means to me: it’s about experiencing the incredible person you are, day in and day out, bearing witness to your evolution, your thirst for knowledge, and your continual growth. This journey we share together continually shapes and redefines my understanding of what love truly means.

I love you All Ways, Always… Anna. Happy Anniversary! Thank you for being the embodiment of love in my life and for showing me, day after day, what love truly is.

The beauty of purpose and calling is that no one can undermine, stop, or manipulate God’s plan. As I embrace this season of manifestation, I am deeply grateful for every experience that has shaped me. Each moment has perfectly prepared me for this time.

I am thankful every day for the privilege of doing what I love. The relationships I’ve built with these kids and the profound impact on their growth enrich my life. Life is truly beautiful and fruitful when you create change. I thank you, God, for aligning my spirit with your calling. I now see the reason for my difficult journey; my endurance and resilience were essential for this preparation. This season has made that clear.

The years of resilience and overcoming challenges—alongside internal battles, grief, disappointment, and anger—have woven my transformation into who I am today. I thank you, God, for guiding me through darkness to lead your people.

I feel empowered like never before. In chaos, I am reminded that I am exactly where I need to be, impacting the next generation. With gratitude and abundance, even amid opposition, I trust that my steps are divinely ordered.

For the first time in my life, I genuinely feel that I’ve made my younger self proud. I consciously decided to stop chasing after what society defines as success—acquiring wealth, status, and material possessions—and instead focused on nurturing my happiness and well-being. The transformation that has come from that decision has been astonishing in so many ways. I’ve found a deep sense of happiness, a surge of confidence, and a newfound clarity in every decision I make. As I move forward into 2025, I feel a sense of alignment I have never experienced before.

Gone are the days that I second-guessed myself or doubted my abilities. Now, more than ever, I am completely convinced that I am exactly where I’m meant to be. My role involves coaching, leading, and developing the next generation, helping them avoid the pitfalls I encountered and the detours from God’s purpose that I faced throughout my journey. I take every lesson learned from my experiences and share those insights with these young minds, meticulously revealing the often harsh realities of life to help prepare them for the future. While I still aspire to achieve victories and successes, I find that I care much more about the holistic development of these young individuals that God continues to place in my path.

To me, leadership is not just a role or a title; it is not a mere decision or a switch that can be turned on and off at will. Leadership embodies the culmination of overcoming a myriad of life’s obstacles, and it requires a level of wisdom that comes from real experiences. It’s about being vulnerable enough to own up to my flaws and shortcomings and exploring what truly motivates me. By doing this, I set an example for the kids, showing them that it’s okay to be imperfect and to grow continuously.

My hope is that when these young adults look up to me, they see a man who is empowered enough to be his authentic self—a mentor who is willing to take a strong stand for his beliefs and values, even if it means facing criticism or backlash. I want them to understand the importance of integrity, and to see that being true to oneself must always take precedence over conforming to societal expectations. by @rollinsnaron

“Your path was set in stone. The reason for your existence was already written before your conception, and your vessel accepted a soul.”

I’ve reflected over the past couple of days on how incredible the journey has been to watch you grow. My boy, you did it! Despite a rocky journey, you managed to come out unscathed. You never became too jaded by the hand you were dealt; you managed magnificently. Words can’t fully express your impact! You’ve taught me more than I can probably ever teach you. Just know that as you continue, I’ve got your back forever. It’s an unwritten agreement between you and me, the unification and identity of all of us. As brightly as you shine, you’re the best part of our unity. Every good quality from our family’s existence, God gave to you!

I once promised Anna that “One day I’ll make us rich”. However, the meaning of “rich” has evolved. As I reflect on our journey thus far, I see a life of abundance, filled with different kinds of wealth. We have been fortunate enough to experience physical, spiritual, and mental wealth.

We have traveled to different cities, indulged in local cuisine, visited museums, and conversed with locals to discover hidden gems. This experience has provided us with memories that we will cherish forever. We have navigated our individual and collective journeys with unwavering faith, believing that everything will work out according to plan, even when we cannot see why we’ve been given another test.

The hurdles we have encountered on our journey have been immense, but you have always remained centered and intact, never losing your spirit. You continue to give to others, even when they don’t reciprocate, further proving that she is an anointed woman.

I have learned that I am wealthiest when I’m with you, experiencing life, navigating new territories, supporting each other, and loving and caring for each other. Life, just like marriage, is a journey of evolution, and I feel blessed to have a front-row seat to watch you be yourself, year after year. I have learned that home is wherever we are together.

Our journey has taught me that wealth is not just about money and material possessions, but it’s about experiencing life to the fullest, overcoming obstacles, and loving and supporting each other through it all. Initially, we thought that finding the perfect location was the key to finding a home. We imagined living near the beach or in a peaceful countryside, but with time, I’ve come to realize that a home is much more than just a physical place. It’s where you feel safe, loved, and happy, where you can be yourself without pretense, and where you create lifelong memories. A home is a feeling that stays with you, no matter where you go or how far you travel. Fortunately, I found my home with you.

It’s crazy to think I’ve been around to celebrate 10 of these with you. I think in this life it’s important we prioritize being present. Something I’ve watched you focus on during chapter 28. Stopping to smell the roses while being intentional with your intentions you bloomed this year. Being a goal setter comes with highs and lows but you always achieve. Your drive to achieve everything you’ve dreamt of has taught me how great life can be if you put the work in. 10 years later and you still inspire me.

During chapter 28 you were under construction. You remolded relationships, cracked walls of generational curses and intentionally detailed the place. You lifted old tile and started the fix on a cracked foundation. This year you focused on the small details and put every little piece where it belonged. You tried different things outside of your comfort, simply in the name of “Hey I Tried” you grew. You continue to give every ounce of yourself, with no desire for acknowledgment or reward. And because of that life has been fruitful.

So here’s to the next! We will continue to learn, grow, and experience. When life gives us lemons, we will turn it to lemon meringue pie 🍰. Thank you for being my bestest friend, my life partner, my accountability partner and so much more. Words will never truly tell the story of how much I enjoy loving you. You are incredible.
