A look back at photos from our ROM Spring Showcase! 🌟

Range of Motion (ROM) Dance Ensemble is a student-run organization in the Department of Dance that was founded in 2013. The purpose of ROM is to create a positive environment for individuals to further their artistry while extending and sharing their passion for dance, supplementing the department's curriculum by focusing on commercial dance styles.

Wanting to join a student organization this year in the College of Arts + Architecture? There are many orgs in each of our departments that are available for students to join, regardless of their major.

Congratulations to Range of Motion Dance Ensemble for their fall showcase! 🌟⁠

Held on November 9, the dance student organization presented 12 works choreographed by members of the group. This year's showcase was held at @chassecenterofdance, owned by dance alumna and former ROM member, @its_phoreal, and alumna @rwelshnoel was the stage manager for the performance.⁠

@rom_uncc is a student-run organization founded in 2013 that creates a positive space for dancers to grow their artistry and share their passion. The group supplements the Department of Dance curriculum by focusing on commercial dance styles like contemporary, hip hop, and jazz. ⁠

"I have a really good group of girls that I get to call my best friends, and Range of Motion has provided me with a creative outlet for me to dance without the pressures of the competition world, or the dance team world," first year student Caroline Krell tells the Niner Times. ⁠
⁠
ROM holds fall and spring showcases at the end of each semester, after choreographing and preparing for the event throughout the year. The ensemble is open to all students at UNC Charlotte, non-dance majors included, and has auditions for new members at the beginning of each school year. ⁠

"One of the best parts about our organization is we encourage people who are not dance majors to come and join our club, and it's a great way for girls who grew up dancing and aren't doing that for school anymore to still have that outlet," fourth-year student Jordan Smith tells the Niner Times. ⁠
