Where ruins become poetry.
Hidden beneath decades of overgrown vegetation lies a château that time seems to have forgotten.

Built in the 19th century by a woman in memory of her late husband, it was once surrounded by vast greenhouses and orangeries, now almost entirely lost to time.

Abandoned for more than half a century, its roof and ceilings have gradually collapsed, while nature has slowly reclaimed the place.

Yet at its entrance, four monumental caryatids representing the seasons still stand, silently watching over the ruins.

I left Paris at 2 a.m. to discover this place.

At 5 a.m., my car broke down on the highway. Despite everything, I eventually made it to my destination. More than ten hours of driving in total, for just a few hours in a place frozen in time.

A spa town whose history dates back nearly 2,000 years. As early as the 2nd century, the Romans had tapped into the hot springs and built their first baths here. Remnants of that era can still be found beneath the town.

Inside, the various buildings are connected by an incredible network of underground galleries. Hundreds of meters below ground, in sometimes suffocating heat, between old passageways, pipes, and Roman remains.

For centuries, an entire town lived to the rhythm of these waters and its thermal baths. Emperors, artists, and writers came here to take the waters.

Today, the corridors are empty and the buildings silent.
