“I think beauty is so much more than one, universal ideaI. Everyone has a different relationship to beauty. We can’t expect someone else to feel the same. We can’t ask them to feel beautiful and we can’t tell them that they’re not allowed to feel ugly, that they should look like this or that... and yet we do and that feels weird, that’s what beauty has become. It feels like this wasn’t the way it used to be. It feels like beauty was layered, more about an experience. With friends, or on your own, at your favourite places. Was beauty maybe a feeling instead? That’s what I think about, when I think about beauty. That’s what I’m trying to understand: these moments in-between.
