This is one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. I’m extremely proud of it, and I wanted to say something about it. From this photo, I realized we already have plenty of pictures of a person playing guitar on a stage. What I’m looking to capture are epic moments that will never happen again.

Sometimes those two things look almost identical, but to truly capture it, you have to be vigilant—ready for the exact second when someone’s soul becomes visible. Photography has taught me to look for the absolute best in somebody, and then click the button. That’s the sliver of reality that I’m after.
