Goodbye Dad 🕯️❤️ See you on the other side of the rainbow 🌈
Although losing a parent is never easy, it makes it so much easier knowing my dad truly lived life to the fullest and that we were able to be with him and say goodbye when his time came.
Most people following me here on social media probably never knew him personally, but he was a deeply respected and loved man who influenced so many people with his positive spirit and sporty attitude.
He was a pioneer in many aspects of life and lived a beautiful, wild, and adventurous life with his friends and the big family we built together with the love of his life, my mother.
Just to name a few things. Most likely the first Austrian to jump off the cliffs of Acapulco after harvesting tobacco in Canada with his friends as a young lad. An English and sports teacher. A pioneer of white-water sports here in Austria. Campsite owner. Chairman of our local ski club for more than 26 years. And so much more.
He loved life. He loved people. And people truly loved him back.
For his funeral two weeks ago, people came from all over the world to say their final goodbye. It was incredible to witness so many hundreds of people mourning my dad. My hero. Our hero.
Over the past three weeks, I’ve heard countless beautiful stories about him and realized just how many people he positively and deeply impacted throughout his life.
Life goes on now, and he will continue to live on through all those memories and through his children and grandchildren.
Of course we are heartbroken that he is no longer here, but knowing he lived such a full and meaningful life, and that he was able to leave this world peacefully surrounded by the people he loved most, somehow makes it easier to cope with and even puts a small smile on my face as I wipe away the tears.
Fuzzi. Dad. You will forever be remembered as a legend of life ❤️ taken in Tyrol by @romanhuber
