It’s out! Full concept trailer has been released 🎬🎥👁️
Getting Up: Legends of New Radius 🌇

What a journey and pleasure has been to see this project come to life during the past year.
As VFX supervisor and artist, from late nights on set to late nights hitting that render button, it’s been an exciting ride.

Don’t forget to watch on Youtube as well, you know, to make those 4K renders worth it! 😉 (link in bio).

Special thanks to the man himself @elliottmontello for calling me on this mission, and all the amazing team behind it.

BLOOM - This is how I imagine a perfect morning 🌸🌺🌻

I’ve been playing around with Blender and its Geometry nodes system to achieve a more organic and procedural way of modelling, shading and animating, there’s still lots to learn! But this is a short application of the concepts learned so far.
Will be releasing a more in-depth look at this for the VFX maniacs out there!

Special thanks to the beautiful @scandinazn for her support and patience while filming this! ❤️❤️ she’s also responsible for the beautiful set dressing 🌱

Thanks for watching! Stay safe and have fun in the coming weekend 😎😎

Breaking down the process behind this shot 👀🍿

Even though this moment lasts for no more than 3 seconds, lots of tests were done in order to achieve a look we were happy with.
Now you know why VFX artists have such big bags under their eyes! 🫠🫠

Hope you enjoy this little edit, and the weekend ahead! Thanks for watching 🙏

We’re making a movie! 🍿🎥👀

Months ago, Director @elliottmontello contacted me with a very interesting project in mind, he wanted to make a pilot trailer based on one of his favorite videogames of all time: Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under pressure, and he wanted me to be his Visual Effects main dude🧑🏽‍🍳🖥.
I immediately connected with him and the story, but I was a little bit nervous since the project seemed very ambitious… we need CG Trains? Sci-Fi Blimps? Generate an entire CG city?! Using Blender as my main 3D tool? I don’t know man, sounds a bit crazy to me…
I decided to jump on the project and I’m so glad I did.
I had the opportunity to collaborate alongside some of the most talented people I’ve met, from working on set, to finishing things in the color studio.
The good news is that Marc Ecko @beingmarcecko the creator himself is now fully supporting this endeavor! And he is asking people to go sign an expression of interest at gettingup.com ✍️(link in bio!). So please please, head over there and support us with your signature to make the full feature film a reality!
.
I’m currently cooking the VFX for the full version of the trailer, but here is a little taste…
.
My toolbag: #DavinciResolve #Blender #Nukex #Substancepainter #Photoshop (with hints of #UnrealEngine).
I’m responsible for all aspects VFX, including: Tracking, Layout, modeling (with the help of assets from #Kitbash, #Sketchfab and #turbosquid), Texturing, Lighting, and #Compositing.

Some behind the scenes and VFX breakdowns coming soon!

An evening of contemplation... Do you see what I see? 👁️

My first big challenge of the year was water simulation, ohh boy, still wrapping my head around it 🤯

May your new tour around the sun bring you happiness, health and fruitful experiences. Personally I want to try things I've never done before such as recording a series of tutorials (in español 🗣️).

Godspeed! 🙌

It's a wrap! I present to you my latest shortfilm: YVR - Citywaves 🐋🐙🐟
Inspired by the city of Vancouver and the beauty of its natural surroundings; my love for scenic walks and a little bit of daydreaming.
A project that started as a study of the VFX pipeline and a couple of shots then extended to a 2 minute shortfilm.

Tap to watch in full screen and activate sound! 🎧
-
On a more technical side:
#Blender was used for all 3D work including modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting and rendered in #blendercycles
#nukex was used to bring it all together in compositing and #davinciresolve was used for editing, sound design and coloring using the ACES colorspace.
#aftereffects was used for subtle motion graphics elements.
Sea creatures models from #turbosquid

Shot using a #bmpcc6k and a #sonya7c love both cameras! Can you spot the difference?
-
Hope you enjoy watching as much as I enjoyed making it. Closing a chapter with this one :)
