ARC Review - Make It A Double by Amber Palmer

Another romance to fall in love with! Beckett is down BAD for Sawyer and he proves again and again that he will do whatever it takes to make Sawyer happy and make sure she and their baby are okay. He tracked her cravings and made sure to stock up on all of them! He finished her scrapbook! All the acts of service, the love declarations, his way with words made me love him more and more! Sawyer and Beckett deserve each other and I love them so much! The way they fell in love was beautiful and so heartwarming. All the little tender moments melted my heart - from slow dancing in the nursery to just lying in bed talking about their future plans! Plus, the spice was hot hot hot!

The found family was the best! Sawyer and Beckett weren’t alone - they had a whole village of support from their loved ones. Sawyer reminded me of myself in that I hate asking for help and would rather just do things by myself. She was surrounded by people who loved and cared about her. She learned that it’s okay to lean on people and that she does not have to do everything alone. I’m so happy she and Olivia have such a great friendship. Duke is like a protective older brother too and so is Lukas. Tate, Beckett’s younger sister, is hilarious and a spitfire. I loved how the guys (Duke, Lukas and Grady) were supportive and had Beckett’s back. The daddy day camp was the cutest thing! I can’t wait to see more of all our favorite characters in the next book!

Make Me Laugh by Dany Crooks

This was a masterpiece! I’ve found another comfort read!! West and Jo have my heart! Their chemistry! Their banter! Their support and love they have and give to each other! The friendships! The found family!💜 I am super pumped that this series is a duology!

This book had me laughing, blushing, giggling, crying and even sobbing 😭 I needed Jo to allow herself to be loved like she deserves and let West in because that man was all in from the moment he laid eyes on her! And she eventually did with the help of their friends, the man who loves her and ultimately herself. Like Frankie says, Jo deserves all the happiness in life and more! Jo’s past hardened her to place her guard up and prepare herself for the worst because that’s what she thought was going to happen. Her ex was a POS and her mom leaving made her feel like she couldn’t be loved. Frankie is a ride or die friend/sister to Jo and she saw the end game for West and Jo before they did!

WEST freaking Isakson/Parker! THIS MAN! Added to the book boyfriend list right away! His charisma, his charm, his dimples, his hot bod, his smile! He won Jo over right away! I was hanging on every word and every interaction between them and it was super cute seeing Jo try to resist their chemistry and attraction. He weaseled in past her defenses and eventually won her heart and her love. His backstory of how he got into comedy…my heart 😭 He has 2 ride or die friends/brothers and the way they all look out for each other is super touching. The love confessions chapter had me sobbing! All the things/details he payed attention to about Joey! All the acts of services! All his declarations and admittance of his feelings! I was smiling from ear to ear every time he mentioned Jo or anything about her! Literally had me swooning! Enzo and Kell’s pep talks were so good too! I just loved everything about this book! I can’t freaking wait for the next one!

Talk about a power couple! Owain and Lunette are powerful individuals, and together they are magical and unstoppable! They truly deserved everything good in their lives and ultimately worthy of each other and their love! They were destined to be fated mates!

You get swoon-worthy and tender moments, banter, secrets, betrayal, plot twists and turns, found family, heartwarming love, and delicious spice! I love that we got cameos from characters in the first book and can’t wait to see more cameos throughout the rest of the series! All the secrets and reveals on how corrupt the Assembly is was crazy and super intriguing! I love the story and the world building too! Thank you so much @astoria_hope for this ARC!!

🌼📚 August Recap 📚🌼

The last summer month was packed with many events and I got to spend lots of time with my family, friends and coworkers! In addition to the books I read this month, I binged watched so many romance animes and they were fantastic! (Yakuza Fiancé, A Sign of Affection, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!, and Yona of the Dawn) I’ve made a whole list of other romance animes I want to watch ☺️.

Fave read: Daybreak by Autumn Woods 💜
- The most emotional and beautiful conclusion to Alex and Ophelia’s story. I literally can’t stop thinking about them, especially ACG!

Highlights:
- Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Tour Concert: I absolutely cried my eyes out and lost my voice 🥹. Her music has healed me so much throughout the years
- Farmer’s Market w/ my friends/coworkers
- Celebratory wedding dinner w/ my coworkers
- My sister-in-law’s bridal shower

Such a great why choose! I love me some possessive, jealous and protective men! I loved all the POVs! I can’t freaking wait for the rest of the series! Rhys and Nyx are such tortured grumps who are still yearning/longing for their mate - I can’t wait to see them finally give into Rae!

Pax and Rae’s friendship is the sweetest! I love how Pax calls Rhys out when he’s being unfair and taking out everything on Rae. Them ganging up on Rhys’s grumpiness is the best. This found family is great and I can’t wait to see all of Rae and her mates interact with her and each other! Their banter had me cackling, blushing and smiling so much!

Kian is so precious and their bond is tender, effortless and just natural. I feel like his love is the warmest love and I’m so glad Rae has him. I love how their relationship panned out from childhood best friends to now lovers/mates!

So I ate this up! I love the fast paced, high stakes academy setting, with a fierce and kickass FMC, 3 MMCs to fall in love with and a why choose setting! The found family pulled on your heartstrings! Ethan, Fleur and Addie are the best trio! Through all their interactions, you could feel the love and care they had for each other. The women’s health rep was done beautifully too.

I listened to the playlist while reading this and I forgot how much I love Paramore! All the pop culture references were so great too!

Beck, Van and Dek were captivated by Addie from the moment they saw her. I loved the different POVs! How each of the instructors had their own relationship with Addie, and all together they were a team/mini family. They are the definition of men who are protective, possessive, and soft only for her! The tension and banter between them was electric! And the spice was spicing! 🔥🌶️

That cliffhanger ending?! Ugh I need the next book ASAP! I’m really curious how the rest of the story is going to pan out and how Addie is going to handle everything.
