Icons’ Cut Series No. 59

“Mas Marami Pang Bakla Kesa sa Puno.”

A phrase often dismissed as a joke, especially during the rainy season, has long reduced queer people to a punchline. This Pride Month, we chose to reclaim it.
Set in the heart of a forest, this series transforms the very place the saying points to into a space of joy, freedom, and belonging. Beneath the canopy, people across the LGBTQIA+ community come together; not to hide, but to celebrate. The forest becomes more than a backdrop; it becomes a living reminder that growth has always depended on connection. Here, differences coexist, identities intertwine, and every presence makes the whole ecosystem stronger.

Like the trees that flourish side by side, queer people continue to grow through care, solidarity, and chosen family. In every shared laugh, every dance, and every embrace, the forest becomes a place where everyone has room to take root, where every identity is nurtured, and where no one has to bloom alone.

Matagal na kaming narito, sama-samang umuusbong, nagdadamayan at patuloy na lumalaban. Ang kaibahan lang? Hindi na kami nagtatago sa likod ng mga puno. Kami na ang kagubatan.

Mama Mama

Ang unang babae na tumanggap sa aking kasarian 🌈

For this year’s Pride Month shoot, @romglenn_ and I decided to do something close to my heart. I realized that I hadn’t done any photoshoots with my mom, so Pride Month felt like the perfect time to share this with her. I wanted to recreate the visions I used to have when I was still in the closet. Back then, I used to imagine what it would feel like to be fully seen by her and today, getting to live that reality with her is a dream come true. It’s a beautiful reminder that the unconditional love I used to dream of back then is exactly what she gives me every single day.

Happy pride to everyone, especially to my Mama Mama. Thank you for being my safe space. Thank you for being there for me every step of the way until I became my authentic self.

I love you, Mommy 🌈♥️ Happy Pride from me and the woman who taught me how to shine. 💅

Icons' Cut Series No. 50

A jeepney arrives already full, but the road keeps asking who gets to move and who is left standing. In the heat of Manila’s motion, every ride becomes a quiet negotiation between space, timing and survival.

Inside, bodies fold into each other. Outside, hands hesitate, hoping the next one still has a room. It is a daily rhythm of almost—almost getting in, almost making it, almost being part of the journey.

But the jeepney is never just a vehicle. It is a labor in motion. It is the weight of fuel, of fares, of lives kept running despite everything pulling them to stop. The drivers who keep these routes alive are not separate from where we are going… they are the reason we move at all.

Missing a ride is never the end. It is only a pause in a system that should never make arrival feel uncertain in the first place.

Hindi lang ito biyahe—ito ay laban para makarating.

Where the water carries a beginning.

In celebration of turning 23. This concept was inspired by San Juan, the city I’m from, where water has long been part of its rituals and stories. For this shoot, water becomes a quiet symbol of beginnings; a reminder that every return to it can mean reflection, release, and the courage to face whatever lives beneath the surface.
