Some of my fave plugins I used to make OBSESSION:

OTT — stock plugin in Ableton. I love putting it on vocals to make them sparkle in the busier parts of the production.

AlterBoy — such a fun plugin! You can change the formant and pitch of your vocals and make them sound super interesting. I love using it on an ad-lib that I want to be more noticeable in the mix.

UAD LA-3A Compressor — so easy to use and does an amazing job. I have one on almost all of my tracks tbh.

EchoBoy — what I love about this delay is that it gives you so many creative options, and you can add textures to the delay itself. It’s so easy to get creative with this one!

UAD Brigade Chorus — LOVE the sound of this chorus. I love putting it on pads, snares, and even the bass!

Raxx by Waves — a super aggressive compressor that works really well for me on vocal stacks!

UAD Studio D Chorus — another chorus from UAD that I love 💕

Roar — another stock Ableton plugin. SOOO fun on pads, vocals, drums, everything. You can basically highlight certain frequencies and distort them, which makes it super fun to play with.

swipe for a before and after of @hanamendel‘s magic. i’ve been thinking lately about this idea that art loves art and that no one does anything worthwhile alone ever, despite what we’re often led to believe on this hellscape of the internet… and it’s so rare to find collaborators who posses the insanely rare ability to perfectly balance out their own craft and vision with your often very abstract needs and preferences. it’s even more rare for them to be able to do all this while also making you feel good (!) comfy (!!) and beautiful (!!!). to say that getting your picture taken is a vulnerable activity would be an understatement, and not only did hana come through like a beast with her one-of-a-kind craft of layered photo illustration she also made me feel pretty and smart and capable and listened to me??? and took pictures of me that i recognized myself in and managed to capture something that feels really authentic and also looks so beautiful???????? all this to say that like this is 100% a hana mendel appreciation post and that you all should try to book her rn before she becomes too famous for us but also that i feel so lucky and blessed to be surrounded by talented friends and lovers who are good at the things i have no idea how to do. art loves art people love people and those two truths often make this music thing feel worthwhile even when it’s really hard!!! by @romi_mor
