With a mix of gratitude and nostalgia, we officially announce the close of our 2026 whale watching season. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us. Your patience and passion made every sighting even more special.

We are incredibly proud to finish the year with a 100% success rate. From the first light of sunrise on the high dunes to the moments these giants revealed their grace at sea, it has been a season to remember.

As we wish the whales a safe journey to the North Atlantic, we also hope the best for their future. We kindly urge all operators to join us in practicing more respectful, moderate approach and proper distances to ensure these magnificent creatures return for generations to come.

There are moments when you just go completely silent🤫. We’ve finished 4 successful whale watching expeditions and I’m still silently thanking this ocean for its generosity. 🌊🐳
I feel so grateful to the ocean for the chance to stand face-to-face with these majestic giants. It’s a moment of pure humility and joy that you simply have to experience for yourself.
Our expeditions continue and I can’t wait to see who will join us on board next🚤🐳.

🐟 OFFSHORE ADVENTURE 🎣
A fantastic full-day trip, we reeled in the catch of the day—a stunning 8.8Kg Amberjack.

Doing what he loves the most 🎣 💙

@lukeg_1983 went out fishing with @romidejesus on his traditional fishing boat on New Year’s Eve....

Unusually for Cape Verde, we had a sonar/fish finder, a marine GPS and an emergency radio.

The sea was visibly alive on the journey out with bait fish breaking the surface, flying fish and red billed tropicbirds.

Once we arrived at the secret spot we started jigging - this worked brilliantly, the fish finder wasn’t even showing anything when both Romi and my rods bent in half on the first retrieve, resulting in two decent amberjacks being reeled in.

We caught 12 amberjack in total while jigging, as well as a tuna (which was a real workout to reel in from 80m down) – what a great afternoon out!

Romi was friendly, knowledgeable and had really good fishing kit, as well as the safety equipment to keep his customers safe. It was a great experience and something that will most definitely be repeated on future visits to Boa Vista.
