Ever wondered what it’s actually like to buy property in Spain? 🇪🇸

The notary signing is where most international buyers get their first culture shock, and honestly, nothing can fully prepare you for it if you’re used to the UK or the Netherlands.

Back home you sign and you leave. Here? You’re settling in for the long haul. Today we waited 1.5 hours just for the bank to arrive, and that’s before the notary reads through every single clause out loud. Every. Single. One.

My advice if you’re buying on the Costa Blanca:

🕐 Block out the entire day — no plans after
🥐 Bring a snack and something to drink — seriously
😮‍💨 Just breathe — it’s all part of the process

It sounds intense but once you know what to expect it’s completely fine. This is Spain, and honestly we wouldn’t have it any other way.
