Wow… it’s really been 5 years. Boy, does time fly. I still remember being at the hospital on this day 5 years ago.

I can honestly admit that ever since you were born, I’ve carried this worrying anxiety just thinking about raising you in a world with so much hatred, especially toward men of color. But no matter what, I just want you to grow into the best version of yourself and chase whatever you want to be in life. I’ll always be here to support you through it all.

As long as I can remember, football has been a part of my life. It gave me purpose growing up fueling dreams of one day reaching the NFL. But life has a way of teaching you that nothing is guaranteed. You either adapt, or you get left behind.
That’s what led me to coaching and training. It gave me a new purpose passing down everything I’ve learned to the next generation. Not just how to be physically tough, but how to be mentally strong when things don’t go your way.
I tell my athletes all the time: life doesn’t slow down for anyone. You can’t control everything that happens, but you can control how you respond. Too many people miss their blessings focusing on what’s out of their hands. The things you can control attack them with everything you’ve got every single day.
Give your all in everything you do. That’s the standard.

17 is crazy. Can’t believe I’m writing that It feels like just yesterday I was holding you for the first time still just a kid myself trying to figure out life while learning how to be a dad in the process. Can literally say we grew up together Every lesson I learned you were right there with me and in the process you became one of the best parts of who I am today Watching you grow into the person you are today has been a blessing You are Smart, beautiful, and full of a light that makes everyone around you better I see the way you carry yourself the way you care about others and all the selfless actions you display i can say we did a hell of a job as parents All those little moments your first steps, your first words the adversity we faced the memories we made they all built something so special between us no matter how fast time moves one thing will never change I am always your dad and I will always be right here for you‼️ As you step into this next chapter I want you to know you never have to face anything alone I’ll be with you every step of the way through the highs the lows and everything in between You can always count on me and trust that I’ll have ya bacc thru the good and bad Happy 17th birthday my baby I’m so proud to be your father Always have been always will be.
