2025 GX550 Overtrail+
This all started back in the fall. Scheduled a call with Ben @dissentoffroad, talked through a build. Probably the most straightforward build on a vehicle I’ve ever done. One issue, I didn’t have a GX lol. Penciled in a build slot, and now it was time to hunt for a vehicle. Luckily @lexusofpleasanton Chris King came through big time. Again, best vehicle buying experience ever. Dec 1 I drove it up to Dissent in Colfax, and picked it up 2 weeks later.
I just changed the transmission fluid on the front portal axles tonight (ran out of daylight for the rear), and was reflecting on how all of this came together. Rarely do you have such a good experience with a project. Dissent is an amazing shop, people, and business. I am already looking at old landcruisers and trucks to start another project, but the wife is already fed up with my home looking like a parking lot. Speaking of the wife, even she enjoys how this build turned out despite her height disadvantage lol. Thanksgiving has passed but on this Christmas Eve, I am very thankful. Merry Christmas to all, and here’s to slinging some mud, snow, and rocks next year. by @ron_peon

I picked up a new vehicle, but not posting it till the project is done, for maximum suspense. In the meantime, here’s the starlink mini that was just delivered today. It’s part of the build by @ron_peon

What car comes with a sticker that shows you how to fit the max number of golf bags into the boot? And was this the best and last true BMW built before they deviated from their ethos that made them famous? Yes, yes, and yes #e39m5 by @ron_peon

Missed 88,888 by a hair as I couldn’t pull over in time. I love this car more every day. GT3 staring at me like she knows I have a side chick. Little does she know she is the side piece. Jokes aside, my initial impressions on the E39 M5 were very underwhelming on day one. I saw the scratches, the wear, the age. But every day that has passed, I find something new that I absolutely love. And at this point, I am excited every time I get to run it. It’s not the fastest, not the most nimble, certainly not the newest, but boy is it the best. #e39m5 by @ron_peon

Two TiAg (titanium silver) and a GT silver walk into a bar…
lol call me boring but I love my silver cars. Plus, no one can accuse me of having a midlife crisis car. That one is tbd 😈 #992gt3 #e39m5 #e92n54 by @ron_peon
