Every day, the web app fetches 20 articles from The Guardian and generates a collage from their main images, compressing them into a single view. The resulting composition is automatically published and archived alongside its source. Started on 11 April 2026, the project is intended to run undefinitely.

Emerging from a compulsive consumption of news media, the series attempts to visualize the fragmented condition of the world at a given moment in time. Ranging from war zone footage to cultural events and environmental disasters, these images were never meant to coexist.

Detached from their original contexts, chronology becomes the main link between these images. Based on a eurocentric view, the code curates with no particular focus, randomly stitching together pieces of distant realities. Like an archaeological artefact, each fragment's meaning has to be slowly reconstructed, with the source articles helping to trace it back to its origin.

Drawing from Jean Baudrillard's notion of hyperreality, the series considers how reality is encountered through the accumulation of images rather than direct experience: as distance becomes normalized and suffering familiar, the viewer is unable to feel the weight of world events.

After months of organizing ten years of diary photos, and more recently written notes, I’m happy to release “stills and thoughts” into the World Wide Web 👉🏻www.stillsandthoughts.com 👈🏻

For years, I kept a Tumblr with diary photos, mainly as a personal archive. With time I’ve started to give more importance to this diary. I’ve also starting to feel the desire to share more—not only images but also reflections on life.
I asked @ronaldr0se to help me create a platform which acts as an open archive / on going digital exhibition.
Somewhere to give space for the people, places, and thoughts that have caught my attention to exist and be remembered 🫶

I’ll do my best to keep it updated regularly 🐕

Most images are available for licensing / prints, send me an email if some catch your attention ✨

I recycled some of my favorite shots from a few years back. A simple interface before and after processing. post-distortion.ff87c3.eu/

_

I used to think that the quest to embellish reality through retouching was a symptom of the digital age, but I reassessed that thought after seeing this black-and-white photo my father once sent me. Taken in 1905 in the photo-lab of his uncle in Algiers, the image shows men stylising portraits using analog tools. Is it possible to enhance a picture without inherently distorting its content? Post-production was already embedded into the final product, making the medium fail to depict reality.

_

The pictures displayed in the analog section were taken with a Mamiya RZ67 between 2015 and 2021.
Still my favorite camera to this day, carrying it all over the place was a pain, making the act of photographing as tangible as it gets. But why so much tech*nostalgia? Shooting on film was an enriching process but it didn't reveal the 'truth'. As most of the images we consume today are viewed through screens, this material is inevitably subjected to digitisation. Once developed, scanned, and stored on hardware, images loose their materiality, reduced to sequences of 0s and 1s. This grain, texture or colour saturation are becoming filters. The digital series embraces crossing the line, allowing AI to remodel the data, giving it a new life. by @ronaldr0se
