Wie viele Prototypen braucht es bis zum fertigen Produkt?

Bei @tamieh_label haben wir mit unserem EXIST-Stipendium ein klares Ziel verfolgt: wandelbare Strickbekleidung entwickeln. Das bedeutete für uns wir fangen bei null an. Vom Design über das Garn bis zur Produktion mussten wir alles neu denken und aufbauen. Und vor allem brauchten wir dabei eines: Zeit.
Zeit, um ein Design zu entwickeln, das sich anpasst, wie unser EVORA Set, das auf vier verschiedene Arten getragen werden kann (siehe Foto!).

Aber zurück zur Frage:
Prototyp 1: Von Hand gestrickt, präsentiert auf der @berlinfashionwe @neofashion.de
Prototyp 2: Selbst programmiert an der @hochschule.reutlingen mit @jochen.wuenscher
Prototyp 3: Erste Version aus unserer Partnerproduktion. Schnitt und Garn passten noch nicht.
Prototyp 4: Neues Garn, besserer Sitz, aber noch Optimierungsbedarf.
Finales Produkt: Nach 8 Monaten haben wir dann endlich die Teile in der Hand, die ihr jetzt über unseren Onlineshop auf TAMIEH.com bestellen könnt.

Fazit:
Wenn ihr an einem Produkt arbeitet und euch fragt, wann es endlich fertig ist, lasst euch gesagt sein: Es ist völlig normal, dass es mehrere Runden braucht (Ja wir waren selbst zu optimistisch). Und ehrlich gesagt hilft es manchmal auch, den eigenen Perfektionismus kurz beiseite zu legen, um den nächsten Schritt zu gehen. by @ronja.rad

1. Whenever I attend startup events, there are still far more male than female attendees. Except the event is addressing female founders.

2. I never had the feeling of gender inequality till I started working on my own company!

3. 99% of the time, I feel like I don’t know what I am doing! But then I remember that 1% is enough - thanks to atomic habits!

4. When we have team issues, we can talk about the emotions behind it and we always manage to get through it!

5. I believe that entrepreneurship is about more than just founding and scaling a company. It’s about personal growth and the opportunity to create a meaningful career. by @ronja.rad

Some more angles of my most recent work!

the process of making this dress was different to anything else I have ever done. I only followed my intuition during the process and pushed myself more and more out of my comfort zone where I now i can work properly! I guess that is what @highgrovecraft taught me!
The result was shown @berlinfashionwe in February and during the exhibition there were so many interesting people I got the chance to talk to!

A hand knitted and crochet dress from 800 tencel stripes. The material was sponsored by @tencel_europe and the idea was to repurpose fabric and make it unique and outstanding.
I made this as part of the @derberlinersalon in February and it was the end presentation for the Fashion X Crafts program.

This program is put together by @fashioncouncilgermany @kingsfdn @swarovskifoundation to encourage young professionals to pursue their fashion design careers. by @ronja.rad

Working on our mission to create garments that are transformable. Some days it’s easy going and others we just want to hide from all the work that needs to be done. But all in all we believe in our mission and therefore we keep on going. As someone said to us: starting a business is a marathon, not a sprint - and currently we are training the marathon. by @ronja.rad

I just uploaded a video on my YouTube channel where I shortly tried to show some of the moments from the opening event @derberlinersalon
And I also explained more about Fashion x Crafts by @fashioncouncilgermany @theprincesfoundation and @swarovskifoundation
Where I will be a part of this year. Thanks @christianearpvogue and all the others involved in this program for choosing me and my work.

AND check out picture 1 and 2 and you will notice that my top magically changed. This is because I designed it to be transformable and I believe in this idea for clothes for the future! (Hopefully more to come)

p.s. I surprisingly ran into @blissfoster and his business partner in crime (couldn’t believe my eyes, I just know him from the great fashion analysis on YouTube) taken in Kant-Garagen by @ronja.rad

With my master thesis I became a finalist for a competition. Well I did not win, but I got invited to become a member of the @fashioncouncilgermany
Today was the yearly council meeting in Berlin and it was so exiting for me: first because I am away from my daughters ever since the first one was born. Second because I got to meet many of the interesting members and @christianearpvogue . My 15 year old always sewing me would never believed someone telling me I will meet the ex chief editor from @voguegermany in person and that I would get the chance to have a conversation with her. So even I did not win the prize: thank you Fashion Council Germany for this membership! I am really inspired!

P.S. it was also amazing to catch up with a good old friend in Berlin. I just love spending time with people and have deep conversations. Thanks for the hospitality @nala_hannah taken in Alhambra Berlin by @ronja.rad

It’s been a while but I want to share my thoughts about working as a creative: a thought always comes to earth and different people pick up same ideas and make their version out of it. That’s why we always see certain tendencies - aka trends - like sustainability or health. And that is why we see repeatedly same things like: @loewe current ss men show works with plants growing on clothes. Like I did in my thesis a year ago - and also someone might have done somewhere before me. The difference is the interpretation and the look, the intention and idea is the same: working for a better and more sustainable world. Because we have to change fashion industry for this planet - as creative this is our true responsibility. taken in Munich, Germany by @ronja.rad
