I was honored to perform for the Martin Luther King Day celebration at the Capitol building. I opened with "We Shall Overcome," followed by @ladykimberly_ and I closed with "Afro Blue." I'd like to thank Ms. Kim for organizing our part of the event and The Gifted Onez for showing us the best of Hartford students. by @ronperoconcoco

Last week, I made a last-minute decision to bring my soprano to @producermondays to play with my big bro from college days @rayangry for the second time. I thank you and The Council of Goldfinger for allowing me to share the stage with y'all and make some beautiful sounds together. Until next time... taken in Nublu 151 by @ronperoconcoco

A friend asked me if I'm still blowing. This was last night. I'm going to get where I want to be as long as I keep working on it. by @ronperoconcoco

I played bass for the first time in public on Friday, March 7th. My friend @lancekamau was on congas and piano and students on percussion. It was an effort to recruit students to learn instruments, present some music, and challenge myself to do something new at 50. Never stop learning. by @ronperoconcoco

In case you missed it in my stories.... Landing in Ghana on June 17 was a homecoming for me. I instantly felt connected to the people, the land, and the history. This was one among countless memorable experiences there. Medaase, Ghana! by @ronperoconcoco

Sunflower Soul 🌻 Mother Earth

A special thank you to Waberi Jordan and her band for gracing our “Living Room” this past Thursday ‼️

It was a night filled with soulful sounds and mellow melodies that soothed us sonically 🎶

Thank you to the Greater Hartford Arts Council for sponsoring the Living Room Series ( curated by @ericatracycreates ) and to Black Eyed Sally’s for the tasty treats 🙌

Stay tuned for details about our next Living Room 👀

And finally, Happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the Mothers out there 💐 We literally wouldn’t be here without you 🤍

We played a short set in an apartment a hop, skip and a jump from these beautiful waterfalls. This sound set the pace. This was our first time playing together in 2024 and since December of last year due to unexpected circumstances. It was like we didn't even take a break. The vibe and chemistry were still there. I had to blow some cobwebs out of my flute, but I got it to behave enough to get my point across. We discussed some of the world's biggest problems and solutions with a concerned group of folks whom we ate dinner with. I didn't want to post until I got a video of the waterfalls. I stopped by again earlier today. I thank @nationofwaberia for the experience and I hope that you heal as quickly as possible. More music to come!🎶 by @ronperoconcoco
