Barbecue last night at stiles! I feel I can always count on them. From the meat to the sides, it always hits.

Last night, we got some brisket, turkey, beef ribs, lemon pepper wings, potato salad, corn casserole, and Mac n cheese.

I’ve come to the realization recently that as much as I love brisket, it usually doesn’t satisfy me the way I think it will. But this did not disappoint. Perfectly moist, and the smoky flavor was just right.

Their turkey is my favorite turkey in terms of bbq places. It’s truly so juicy and flavorful. I don’t know if this is wrong of me, but I had some with the ranch from the wings and it was a beautiful symphony of flavors. I think it’s funny when people claim that they make ‘good turkey,’ because that just sounds oxymoronic to me, but this turkey is so good.

The beef ribs were almost overwhelmingly large, which is the opposite of a problem. Not my top pick, but still so rich— both in texture and flavor. The fat, the char, the smokiness— a very solid beef rib.

Lemon pepper wings were a new one for me here! I had never had theirs. I don’t eat wings very often but these were really crispy on the outside, juicy meat, and very well seasoned.

I’m not a potato salad girl but there have been ones to pleasantly surprise me— this being one of them. Highly recommend (though I am a huge fan of all the sides of theirs I’ve tried)

And on that note, their corn casserole is truly the star of the show to me. Lightly sweet, balanced with some savory-ness. Creamy and smooth texture with some nice pieces throughout. There’s no way to describe it and do it justice. This is a must have every single time.

I hadn’t had theirs Mac n cheese in ages. But the cheese was not too thick or thin, just creamy enough, and the pasta they use are shells, which is super fun.

All in all, a phenomenal meal. So incredibly satisfying. Everything hit, and I was in great company! Beyond the food, the service is always great and they’re very friendly! Love love love coming here. taken in Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew by @roobites

First meal I had in Thailand was just phenomenal. It was a gorgeous restaurant and their food was as delicious as it was stunning! My duck with red curry was just perfect. No notes. Reminded me of the duck four seasons dish I had at 1618, which had lychee. This one had grapes and I can see why fruits like those are so popular with duck. My mom got pad kee mao with seafood, and it tasted like nothing I’ve had before. I only had one bite so I can’t describe it how as thoroughly as I wish I could unfortunately. The iced coffee was so nice to sip on, especially with the spice in the food. My mom’s coconut was also a very pleasant surprise, as I don’t typically enjoy coconut water. taken in Ad Lib Bangkok by @roobites

Birthday dinner # 1! I knew I wanted to do this at Tillie’s for months so I was so excited for the day to finally come!

Pictured in order: agnolotti with shellfish cream, beef tartare, half chicken with chickpea curry, halibut with roe, tuna crudo, pistachio and ricotta tarte, and other desserts!

Beef tartare is one of my favorites, and this didn’t disappoint! There was some pickled white onion which was a nice touch, I never see pickled /white/ onion so that was nice! My agnolotti was really nice, the shellfish cream really caught my eye. Great balance of flavors, nothing too heavy or overwhelming. Very lovely. The maple crème brûlée and the pot de crème were HEAVENLY! Crème brûlée and bread pudding are my favorite desserts so seeing a MAPLE syrup crème brûlée made my heart sing. Caesar salad & corn fritters, week 2! A perfect little pick me up with faria & ritika :D Loved this salad so much I was craving it again this week! No notes on it tbh. One of my favorite Caesar salads, along with Allday’s. The corn fritters are delicious and have such a nice, delicate sweetness between the crunches. I like that there are actual, visible, whole corn kernels in it as well. The sauce it comes with (piri piri aioli) is hard to do justice with words, but is a nice tangy, bright, savory, sauce that complements the fritters beautifully. Super special roobites post, as this one came from Janeth!! Some delicious mole that I will be dreaming of indefinitely. Could not be bothered to get a good photo because I knew I would be devouring this in record time. The rice was really star quality as well. Love love love Janeth and absolutely loooooooved this bite. by @roobites

The post-ari show dinner was DELISH!!!! I love getting canes or p. Terrys after a show but THIS was amaze!!! Felt so spoiled having such a yummy meal after a concert! Shoutout Dani for showing us this spot!

My sister got some tteokbokki which was nice! The texture was great and the sauce had a great flavor; however, no matter how hard I try— I can’t seem to really enjoy the rice cakes themselves. Happy for everyone who does!

Dani & curvy shared the military soup, which smelled heavenly and had a gorgeous presentation! It had spam so I did not try this one but it seemed to be a hit!

Lastly, I have to say— I think mine was the best (and my sister would agree 😅) I got the black soybean paste noodles with egg and cheese! This was exactly what I needed, I crave black bean noodles relatively often and this did it for me. The egg was also super seasoned and peppery, which I enjoyed despite not being the biggest sunny side up fan. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the cheese situation but it came as a slice under the egg! The flavor of the noodles/ sauce (or however you would call it) was very satisfying! Savory, a little sweet, deep/ slightly earthy, and with some umami! Love love loved this. Great spot and definitely keeping it in the back of my mind going forward! taken in SOHA 소하 by @roobites

Been off my game again but coming back strong w some delicious enchiladas, courtesy of @disaacarmen and fam! Huge shoutout to Daniel and his family for this and all the goodies n plates in the past as well. The rice went very well with the enchiladas! Loved the cheese and the tortilla flavors tg, and the cheese was melted so perfectly, even when reheated! Still got the last of it sitting in my fridge rn and am thrilled to finish it off :D by @roobites

Thank you X1000000 to Daniel & his mom for always being so kind and welcoming. He always slides me a plate, and this time when I went to drop off some Polao and moorgi roast for him, his mom had this stunning sandwich ready for me 😭 easy tiger sourdough, turkey, and mozzarella! I didn’t get a photo of the cheese pull, but it spoke for itself. The cheese was so melted and gooey, and the toastiness definitely was reflected in the turkey as well. The bread, as you can tell, was toasted to perfection! I didn’t know how much I needed it until I ate it 😅 the flavors together were very comforting. A very solid sandwich and made with so much love 😊 shouts out @disaacarmen and fam! by @roobites

Beef wraps, shrimp & chive dumplings, and pan fried leek buns! After a long couple weeks, this was a real treat yesterday with my sister. The beef wraps were delicious— the beef was very flavorful, with a sweet but tanginess to it. The wrap was nice, sweet, and a little toasty in flavor. I liked the way it was done, though the beef was nice on its own as was as the wrap with just the other fixins. The leek buns were PHENOMENAL and one of the more exciting things I’ve gotten to try lately! Great textures, so vibrant and green inside, incredible yet simple flavor— just perfect. Can’t wait to have this again some time. The dumplings were pretty tasty, shrimp and chive is a wonderful combo. Would have to rank it after the other two but still enjoyed it— especially given that I’m not a huge shrimp fan. taken in 四姐 Special Noodle by @roobites
