A new album is coming very soon!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Albany-based singer-songwriter Andy Araya, also known as Rooftop Park, sought inspiration from the infamous 2015 escape from Dannemora’s Clinton Correctional Facility for his new single. The aptly titled “Dannemora” was just released last month, and he sat down with our very own Natalie St. Denis to discuss the song and its inspiration. Check it out now over on our website.

It’s no secret that Rooftop Park is a one-man project. As the project’s sole songwriter, promoter, booker, etc. I’m proud to say that Rooftop Park has come very far, and the time has now come for me to bring this living breathing force to another level, which is only possible with the help of others… maybe even you?
.
.
I’m looking to expand Rooftop Park to a band/group effort. The rooms and walls that have graciously allowed me to perform in them, I will always keep and be thankful for, and I think now is the time to kick open the doors of bigger venues, bigger names and so forth. But I can’t do it alone.
.
.
Specifically, Rooftop Park is looking for another guitarist, a bassist, and a drummer. If you’re someone who loves the softer side of rocking out, and would love to join in on this moving train, please feel free to hit my DMs!
.
.
By potentially joining Rooftop Park, here are some of the perks waiting for you:
- You will be joining a reasonably prominent 518 name in terms of indie folk/acoustic/etc, with an album, an EP, and multiple singles already out on streaming!
- You will be joining a project that has been covered (and continues to be covered) by MULTIPLE local outlets, including but not limited to, MetrolandNow, DIY Kingston, Radio Radio X, and more.
- You will be joining a project that is VERY college-radio friendly, getting singles played by various schools pretty often.
(And more!)
.
.
Again, for those musicians who are interested in hopping on this boat, please reach out! And for those who love my music or have stuck around this long, thank you. An album is nearing completion and should be out before the year ends, so please be on the lookout for that :)

Here is a snippet of the soft little guitar solo from my song “A Thousand Roads” (off of my album “Second Nature”, if you’re interested 😇) live from Snakefest Night 1 this past weekend.
.
.
Still not over the high from Snakefest this past weekend. Thank you to everyone who came by, listened, hung out and made that weekend what it was. I’m already missing it.
