Snippets from my undergrad thesis ‘Annelid’ with soundscape/music from @onthedotband A sailor is suffering from hunger induced psychosis causing him to hallucinate that he is a robin. The robin must choose between succumbing to the temptations of his mind or finding a clever escape. The story comes from @onthedotband ‘s song “Islands” from their album “Sea in Between.” After getting their permission to animate a music video I opened up blender, deleted the default cube, and got to work for the next 6 months. It screened at the DCMP capstone screening in November 2025. Full video will be released after more screenings but until then here’s a sneak peek! #blendercommunity #tvpaint #unrealengine5 #cathodemer #animation by @rookiemixtape.art

The guy floating on screen is unfortunately trapped there forever. Another Boulder artist collab this time it’s with @dwalk1202 using his song “Microphone Killa!” Big thanks to him for letting me use this absolute banger Everything is made in Blender, Houdini, and edited in Davinci resolve. More Touch Designer particle stuff. I noticed recently that I’ve been inclined to make really intense and frantic work so the second slide is an attempt at practicing restraint. In this setup I attached the motion of the particles to a synth. Im excited to have TD in my toolkit especially alongside more traditional 3D animation software. #touchdesigner #animation #motiondesign #synth #color by @rookiemixtape.art

Procedural fractal art using Copernicus operators within Houdini. This is my first dive into COP operators and so far it’s a lot of fun! The process is very similar to touch designer. #sidefxhoudini #animation #copernicus #procedural by @rookiemixtape.art

The mask of internal schism: when equipped your childish instincts are amplified forcing you to confront uncomfortable aspects of your own psyche. If you use the scroll wheel at the bottom you can give this guy a light show #mask #blender #lightingdesign #3dartist by @rookiemixtape.art

The mask of the Annelid: You gain excellent survival instincts but your body is drained of most of its nutrients causing intense hallucinations. Previous owners of the mask report initially feeling a brief wave of calm curiosity before waking up days later in a panic of thirst. The occasional blue feather has been found after using the mask, it appears similar to a Robin’s feather. Yet, it is unique among all known bird species. This video contains parts of the song “Islands” by @onthedotband go check em out! Made using Blender, TVpaint and quill #blender3d #tvpaint #davinciresolve #mask #animation by @rookiemixtape.art
