The bocata de calamares became a Madrid classic during the 20th century, especially around Plaza Mayor, where generations of locals and visitors have stopped for a quick, affordable bite before carrying on through the city. 1. The best souvenir shops in Madrid don't have a sign outside saying 'SOUVENIRS'. Here are five of them:📍@colorsmadridstore (Carretas & Duque de Alba):Madrid clothes you'll actually wear after the trip.📍@la_postalera (Centro):Postcards illustrated by local artists, a corner to sit down and write them, and a real mailbox inside the shop.📍@realfabrica (Barrio de las Letras & Chueca):Spanish artisan products rescued from villages across the country before they disappeared. Ceramics, soaps, textiles. Things still made by hand.📍@laintegral (Barrio de las Letras):Independent artists, vinyl, fanzines and pins in a former bakery that's been here since 2005. The kind of shop that doesn't need to explain itself.📍@los.artistas.del.barrio (Lavapiés):Started as an open studio festival. Ended up as the neighbourhood's gift shop. Hay hostels donde dormís. Y hay hostels donde vivís la ciudad.@roomurbanhostels fue lo segundo.Gracia al lado, el Eixample al lado, la playa al lado… y volver ahí después de cada aventura fue lo mejor del día. El diseño te gana desde que entrás, la energía es de las que no esperás en un hostel, y la ubicación es tan buena que casi da bronca no haberlo descubierto antes.Si van a Barcelona y dudan dónde quedarse: acá, sin pensarlo by @roomurbanhostels
