Two years at 8 Aybrook St.

To mark it, Paul and Roosa stepped back behind the bar for the day.

We’ve also released a birthday box: two Geishas from Hacienda La Esmeralda’s Cañas Verdes farm, both from the Trapiche lot.

Trapiche 7FB, Geisha, Washed
Picked over 7 passes, dried on raised beds.
In the cup we find lemon iced tea, jasmine, orange blossom.

Trapiche 4ANC, Geisha, Anaerobic Natural
Picked over 4 passes, dried in a temperature and humidity-controlled cold room.
In the cup we find peach, marmalade, strawberry.

Each comes as a single 24g dose in a custom-engraved Weber Workshops Bean Cellar. Now online.

8 Aybrook St. turns 2.

To celebrate, Roosa, our Head of Coffee, and Paul, our founder, will be behind the bar on Monday 5th October.

We’re also releasing something special for the occasion: two coffees from the world-class Hacienda La Esmeralda.

Thank you to our wonderful team, to everyone who has supported us in bringing Special Guests to life over the last 24 months, and to everyone who’s come through our doors for a cup of coffee.

Throwback to BoP 2026.

Today is finally the day when the coffees we tasted and scored will be auctioned. Currently the highest bid is at $18,004/kg.

I still need to pinch myself thinking I actually got to be apart of the international jury! I dreamt about it for over 8 years and finally this year, my dream came true 😌

I had such an amazing time and what made it even better, beyond my expectations, was the people I got to share the time with.

From Finland to London, Roosa Jalonen has been competing, coaching, and pushing coffee forward. 🏆☕️

Roosa Jalonen is the United Kingdom’s Barista Champion 2024 and Head of Coffee at Special Guests Coffee in London. She’s a coffee competitor and competition coach, and previously won the Finland Cup Tasters Championship in 2018.

Best Of Panama 2026 🇵🇦 - Timeless Resonance -

What an amazing experience! definitely one of the top moments in my career! Thank you so much for @scap.panama for inviting me to be one of your guest cuppers at this years BoP.

For me this was a great honour to represent women in coffee and @specialguestscoffee , to be the first ever Finnish person to join the judging team and to be surrounded by so many industry leading professionals!

Best of Panama is arguably one of the most prestigious competitions in our industry and there is nothing alike anywhere else. This year typicity was mentioned often, and unlike in wine, we dont really have this in coffee, except in Panama. I felt so lucky to be tasting so many unbelievably delicious coffees, many of which showed the beauty of Panamanian coffee so perfectly.

I also had some time to do other cool things like see the Panama barista and brewers championships, visit some farms, go on a hike to lost waterfalls with Jill, cup plenty of other coffees and to hangout with new and old friends 🥰 🩷

One of my favourite parts was to share my cupping table (the best table! #20 😜) with @jillhoff @jesseccy and @lim__junghwan 😎 they made my already incredible experience even better!

Huge congratulations to the winners @altieri.coffee @leridacoffeeestate and @lamastusfamilyestates . Your coffees were truly exceptional! 🥰

Life lately….

Absolutely melting at the backstage of World Coffee In Good Spirits Competition; tryna cool down with icy cloths 🥵😅

I think the best ever irish coffee in the world is actually made by Claire, with these ingredients + Ivyhouse cream 😮‍💨

Me and Anja brewed some Special Gee coffees at Lil’Bouche during World Of Coffee. Such a beautiful bar, I would 100% recommend visiting if you are ever in Brussels

Forward Coffee bartakeover at Aybrook St. was super successful. So many unbelievable coffees! Having HLE Nido as an espresso was definitely one of the highlights 🤩

Such a great turnout for our Producer Highlight event! I was so happy to have Kai in London and to get to taste his beautiful coffees 🥰

During our time at World of Coffee Busan, while supporting our friends Roy Marín and Remy Molina, we had the fortune of meeting someone with an incredible passion for coffee and so much to share: our dear Roosa. ✨☕️

The first time our paths crossed was a few years ago, when she was also competing. Between training sessions, coffees, and spontaneous conversations, a beautiful friendship was born. Since then, we have continued to admire her journey, her growth, and her love for coffee through social media. 🌱🤝

This year, after all this time, we had the opportunity to meet again and spend time together. And from those encounters that may seem simple, but carry a special meaning, something exciting was born.

Very soon, together with Roosa, you’ll be able to experience a small piece of Southern Costa Rica 🇨🇷, the mountains of Chirripó ⛰️, our people ❤️, and our way of understanding and living coffee. ☕️

We would like to sincerely thank her for her trust, for believing in our work, our story, and the effort behind every coffee we produce. It is an honor for us to share this project with someone who values not only the quality in the cup, but also the people, the origin, and the stories that make it possible. 🌿✨

At the end of the day, coffee has the power to bring worlds together, create friendships, and build bridges that go far beyond borders. ☕️🌎🤝

Its that time of the year again next week where Women in Coffee connect on Friday afternoon after LCF for a dinner and drinks. We’ve been hosting this since 2018!!! and I cannot wait to get even bigger group together this year 🤩

But now third year in a row hosted by your resident nordics myself and @themorgancam 🩷 at The Light Bar in Shoreditch from 5:30pm onwards.

This is not a sponsored event or anything with scheduled talks etc. Just a genuine opportunity to catch up, connect and make friends with fellow women in coffee.

Every year our group of women grow, and every year we make new beautiful connections 🌸
