POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi I’m Michelle - the hands and heart behind Root & Ritual.

If you’ve been here awhile you’ve seen the Malas…but not much of me. I’ve been making jewelry for 20 years, but Root & Ritual was born from a much deeper place.

After surviving trauma and loss in 2017, I found myself starting over - physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually. It was a season of letting go, rebuilding , and slowly connecting to what truly mattered.

Meditation, breathwork, and trauma healing became essential tools. And through it all, I returned to what I’ve always loved: gemstones and creating with my hands. Malas became more than jewelry. They became a way to ground, to remember, to reclaim something sacred.

Root & Ritual is about that - rooting into your truth, and honoring the rituals that bring you back to yourself. Each piece I create is meant to support your healing, clarity and strength.

As this space grows, I plan to give back a portion of proceeds to support survivors of trauma - because no one should have to rebuild alone.

Thank you for being here. I am so grateful for this community.

MOONSPELL

108-bead full mala for intuition, inner knowing, discernment and trusting your gut.

You know that feeling.

Everything looks fine. The story makes sense. You have no proof anything is wrong…but your gut is saying NOPE.

So you rationalize it. Explain away the red flags. Tell yourself you’re overthinking.

Until later, when you hear yourself say:

I knew it.

Every woman I know has a version of that story.

Moonspell is for the part of you that knew before you had proof.

Rainbow Moonstone brings intuition, feminine wisdom and connection to the subconscious.

Labradorite brings protection, perception and that mysterious energy of seeing beyond what’s obvious.

Clear Quartz amplifies the energy of the entire piece.

Clear Phantom Quartz carries visible layers of its earlier growth, reminding us that intuition is often wisdom built from everything we’ve already lived through.

The double-terminated Rainbow Moonstone guru symbolizes receiving and responding. Listening inward, then trusting yourself enough to act.

Clear Quartz stars are little points of light along the way. You don’t always get the whole picture. Sometimes you just get a glimmer.

MY VIBE

I notice the shift.
I notice the red flag.
I notice the pull.
I notice the no underneath all my reasons to say yes.

And this time, I listen.

MY MANTRA

I trust the pull.
I honor the pause.
I listen to my gut.

Moonspell.

For the next time your gut whispers before life has to scream.

I CHOOSE ME 🖤

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and for the second year I’m creating small collections throughout the month centered around energies that matter deeply to me — self-love, protection, hope, healing, boundaries, courage, and beginning again.

The first release is I Choose Me.

These finger malas feature those big oversized gurus you all told me you love — 26mm gemmy Madagascar Rose Quartz double-terminated gurus — paired with a black Mother of Pearl heart and your choice of Black Moonstone or Silver Obsidian.

The heart of this one is simple:

Sometimes choosing yourself means trusting the feeling you used to ignore.
Sometimes it means saying no without explaining.
Sometimes it means protecting your peace.
Sometimes it means remembering that your softness does not require you to abandon your boundaries.

Rose Quartz brings self-love and emotional healing. Black Moonstone supports intuition, inner knowing, and new beginnings. Silver Obsidian brings grounding, clarity, and protection.

Different energies. Same message.

I trust myself. I protect my peace. I remember my worth. I choose me.

$36 each
Choose Black Moonstone or Silver Obsidian.

A portion of proceeds from my October Domestic Violence Awareness pieces will be donated to a local shelter supporting women and families rebuilding their lives.

This one means a lot to me. 🖤 by @root.andritual

THE GUARDIAN 🖤🧿
I reclaim my power. My spirit belongs to no one.

Some pieces just seem to find the people they’re meant for. And this one? Well, she didn’t even make it to my Instagram feed before every single one was spoken for! 🥹

I created The Guardian as part of my Domestic Violence Awareness Month collection, with an intention centered around protection, personal power, sacred boundaries, and the right to reclaim what belongs to you. I had no idea just how deeply that message would resonate.

Made with gorgeous black tourmaline, pyrite, a sparkling titanium pyrite geode, and those incredible raw black tourmaline individually chosen and drilled. Finished with a mother of pearl evil eye accent and soft golden cord.

🖤 Black Tourmaline — Traditionally associated with grounding, energetic protection, and strong boundaries.

✨ Pyrite — Confidence, courage, self-worth, and reclaiming personal power.

🧿 Evil Eye — An ancient symbol of protection, a reminder to honor and guard your peace.

Six Guardian finger malas and a commissioned full-length mala. All seven spoken for in just a few HOURS! I’m still a little blown away, and so incredibly grateful. ❤️

But here’s the part that means the most to me. I’ve decided that The Guardian isn’t going to be limited to October. I’ll continue creating her, along with future variations, throughout the year, with a portion of proceeds going to support my local domestic violence shelter.

Because awareness, compassion, and support shouldn’t end when the calendar turns to November.

The Guardian will return. 🖤

Handmade with intention, always.

CYCLE BREAKER 💚

Some cycles don’t end on their own. Sometimes you have to look at your life and decide, “This is NOT how my story ends.”

Whether it’s addiction, unhealthy relationships, self-sabotage, or patterns that have kept us stuck, there’s incredible power in choosing a different path.

I made two versions, both with gorgeous malachite at their heart.

💜 Malachite, Charoite & Amethyst — Created with addiction recovery, sobriety, and breaking addictive patterns in mind. For clarity, courage, and the strength to keep choosing a different path, one day at a time.

🩷 Malachite, Rose Quartz & Pyrite — For breaking unhealthy relationship patterns, self-sabotage, and learning to choose yourself with compassion rather than criticism.

I only have ONE of the amethyst versions available right now! 💜 At least until I can get my hands on some more of those gorgeous chunky amethyst gurus! 😂

I CHOOSE CALM 💜

9-bead finger mala for soothing anxious energy, grounding, emotional balance & coming back to center

For the second release in my Domestic Violence Awareness Month collection, I wanted to create something for the part of healing that lives in the body.

The racing thoughts. The tight chest. The sleepless nights. The constant bracing. That feeling that even when everything is quiet, your nervous system is still waiting for something to happen.

I Choose Calm was made as a little reminder that you are allowed to soften.

MY CRYSTALS

💜 Lilac Mica Lepidolite — calming, balancing, supportive during emotional overwhelm and times of transition
🩵 Blue Lace Agate — gentle communication, peace, softness, and soothing energy
🩵 Raw Blue Chalcedony Guru — emotional ease, tranquility, and a steady, comforting presence
🤍 Clear Quartz Heart — clarity and amplification of intention
✨ Swarovski Crystal — a tiny flash of light, hope, and beauty

MY VIBE

Soft • Grounded • Peaceful • Reassuring • Safe

This one is for the moments when your mind won’t quiet and your body won’t unclench.

Not because everything is suddenly perfect.

Because you deserve moments where your nervous system is not fighting for its life.

MY MANTRA

I soften the spiral. I slow my breath. I return to myself.

A portion of proceeds from my October Domestic Violence Awareness pieces will be donated to a local shelter supporting women and families as they rebuild.

I Choose Calm. 💜

☀️ GOOD THINGS

9-bead finger mala for joy, gratitude, optimism & abundance.

I made this little collection with Citrine, Cognac Quartz gurus and Golden Healer hearts, and the idea behind it is pretty simple: we spend so much time thinking about what we want next that we forget to notice how much good is already here.

Gratitude shifts something. It pulls us out of “not enough” and reminds us of the little wins, the people we love, and the things we once hoped for that are now part of everyday life. Notice the good. Appreciate the good. Make room for more good. That’s the energy behind Good Things.

✨ MY CRYSTALS

💛 Citrine • Joy, optimism, confidence and abundance. Citrine carries a bright, uplifting energy that encourages us to expect possibility, trust ourselves and stay open to the good around us.

🤎 Cognac Quartz • Grounding, clarity and steady confidence. Its warm, earthy energy gives all that bright citrine a deeper foundation.

💛 Golden Healer Quartz • Balance, warmth and heart-centered healing. Each little heart is a reminder to stay connected to gratitude, love and what already feels good.

✨ MY VIBE

Grateful • Joyful • Hopeful • Radiant • Abundant

✨ MY MANTRA

I give thanks for the good already here and stay open to the good still coming.

A tiny reminder for your finger:

notice the good. appreciate the good. make room for more good.

✨ HIGHER GROUND ✨

Custom mala for manifestation, grounding & spiritual growth.

This one was created for someone stepping into a beautiful season of expansion.

Studying reiki, deepening her spiritual practice, connecting with her higher self and intentionally raising her vibration — so I wanted this piece to feel supportive of all of that while still keeping her grounded.

Because spiritual growth is beautiful… but it also needs roots.

This mala is made with Golden Healer Quartz, Golden Rutilated Quartz and Marcasite with Pyrite, with a double-terminated Golden Healer guru, 2 Golden Healer hearts, and a Marcasite/Pyrite coin at the halfway point.

I love the balance in this one — warm golden light, clear focused energy, and that darker earthy metallic element to anchor it all.

✨ MY CRYSTALS

💛 Golden Healer Quartz • Spiritual growth, energetic alignment and healing light. A beautiful stone for raising your vibration and connecting more deeply with your inner wisdom.

✨ Golden Rutilated Quartz • Manifestation, clarity and amplified intention. Often associated with helping energy move, clearing blocks and supporting what you’re calling in.

🖤 Marcasite with Pyrite • Grounding, protection, confidence and strength. It brings a steady, rooted energy to all that higher-frequency spiritual work.

💛 Golden Healer Hearts • Gentle reminders to stay connected to the heart as you grow, expand and evolve.

✨ MY VIBE

Grounded • Aligned • Expansive • Intentional • High Vibration

✨ MY MANTRA

I am grounded in who I am and open to what I am becoming.

BURN BRIGHT 🔥
Sacred Fire Collection

9-bead finger mala for passion, confidence, creativity & letting your inner fire burn bright.

Burn Bright came from a completely different place than Through the Fire. This one isn’t really about what you’ve survived or what you’re working your way through. It’s about the fire that’s already inside you.

You know those times when you feel really connected to yourself? You’re excited about something, creating, making plans, taking chances, laughing too loud…just feeling really ALIVE? That’s the energy I wanted in this little mala.

MY CRYSTALS

Carnelian • Passion, creativity, courage and confidence. I used several different shades and finishes of carnelian in this one, from those deep fiery reds and oranges to the beautiful pale carnelian nugget guru. I love how much natural variation there is in this stone—it really does look like different stages of a flame.

Matte Carnelian • The same fiery energy, but with a softer, earthier look. Mixed with the polished carnelian, it gives the whole piece more depth and keeps all that fire grounded.

Golden Healer • Joy, confidence, optimism and warm, uplifting energy. These golden beads bring the light into this mala and give Burn Bright that glowing-from-within feeling.

Pyrite • Confidence, abundance and personal power. I only used a tiny accent of it here—just a little flash of gold tucked into all that fire.

MY VIBE

I think we spend way too much time worrying about whether we’re too much. Too loud. Too passionate. Too excited. Too ambitious. Too whatever.

Burn Bright is my little reminder that maybe the answer isn’t to tone yourself down.

Maybe you just let yourself burn bright.

MY MANTRA

I don’t have to dim my light to make anyone else comfortable.

Burn Bright is part of my Sacred Fire Collection, inspired by the Phoenix and all the different kinds of fire we carry within us.

FROM THE ASHES 🖤🔥
Sacred Fire Collection

9-bead finger mala for resilience, grounding, strength & finding your fire again.

From the Ashes is probably the darker sister of the three, and I mean that in the best possible way.

When I found that red jasper nugget, I knew exactly where it belonged. It has these incredible streaks of red, black and smoky gray running through it that reminded me of embers and ash. I basically built the rest of the mala around it.

This one is about what happens after something has changed you. Not pretending it didn’t happen. Not trying to become exactly who you were before. Just realizing you’re still here, and there’s still a little fire left in you.

MY CRYSTALS

Golden Obsidian • Grounding, protection, truth and self-reflection. I love the subtle gold sheen in these beads because you don’t see it all at once. The light has to hit them just right, which feels pretty perfect for this piece.

Red Jasper • Strength, stability, courage and endurance. That wild jasper nugget guru is the heart of this mala. Every bit of red, gray and black running through it feels like it belongs in the Sacred Fire story.

Carnelian • Courage, vitality, creativity and forward movement. I used it here like little glowing embers against the darker stones.

Pyrite • Confidence, abundance and personal power. Just a tiny flash of gold because sometimes a spark is enough.

MY VIBE

There are things in life that leave a mark. I don’t think healing means pretending they didn’t.

You take what you learned, figure out what you’re leaving behind, and eventually you start moving again. Maybe a little different. Maybe a little wiser. Definitely not untouched.

But still here.

MY MANTRA

I can begin again without becoming who I was before.

From the Ashes is part of my Sacred Fire Collection, inspired by the Phoenix and the idea that there can still be something beautiful waiting for us after the burn.
