Over the past couple of years, I spent so many hours listening to @root_roof live sessions and discovered so many incredible artists thanks to this platform. So when @si.rchid reached out about the possibility of doing a live session, I was soo excited and curious to plays with the possibilities this format offered.

After some reflection, i decided to turn this opportunity into a full journey with friends and family. i arranged some of my songs for voice, cello, guitar, and choir and hosted a residency to learn the music and practice. We recorded this session 5 days after I came back from 7 months in China. It was quite the marathon, but also the best way to land back home. 🤍

I am so grateful to my dear friends from @tunisia88_alumni_choir and to @chakrahamzoun for joining me on this journey! And of course to @zeineb.barkallah for supporting the craziest ideas and making it seem so easy! A big thank you to my family and samsoum (who is also family) for helping me host everyone and encouraged me through it all. Thank you to the friends who were present along the way @maram._.hammami @kadhem_kb ! Thank you to my college @bowdoincollege for awarding me a mini-grant that allowed to support parts or this passion project.

And finally thanks to the whole team of @root_roof for creating space for possibility and building a community of artists from Tunisia and beyond✨

Last session at Rootroof was something special. ✨

From Nedja, the Norwegian-Tunisian artist, surrounded by an all-Tunisian band, to the phenomenal duo Nautas Loopswith Rodri🇪🇸 and Sebas 🇨🇴, the night was all about beautiful encounters through music.

A huge thank you to everyone who came, danced, listened and shared the moment with us. ❤️
