A #DMV menswear brand is filling the gap between the suit and casual wear. @RootedandHeritage was founded by D.C. professional Nathaniel Jones around a wardrobe problem he experienced himself. As professional dress became more flexible, the traditional suit wasn’t always necessary—but casual clothing didn’t always feel appropriate either. What do you wear when a suit feels like too much, but casual isn’t enough? For Rooted & Heritage, the answer is the sport coat. Built around classic menswear for the modern professional, the DMV-based brand creates sport coats designed to move between the different parts of a man’s life—from the office and networking events to dinner, church, weddings and the weekend. The brand is also rooted in the standards Nathaniel learned from the men in his family: how you present yourself matters. Not simply for appearance, but as a reflection of respect for yourself, the occasion and the people around you.
