Mice with two moms lived 50%(ish) longer than normal mice. Let that sink in. 🤯

In Episode 11 of Fertility Nurses Unfiltered, Dr. Joe (40+ year embryologist and Lab Director) takes us from the origins of IVF all the way to the absolute frontier of reproductive science. And this small, lighthearted clip of the conversation is talking about what real scientists have discovered and studied.

Seem sci-fi? Absolutely. Happening in our lifetime? Probably not. But so did a lot of what’s now standard in the fertility lab. 40 years ago, current fertility care looked like science fiction too. 🤷‍♀️

Either way… it was a really cool conversation to have and Dr. Joe does NOT disappoint!

🎙️ Episode 11 is LIVE now. Link in bio.

We’re Ashlee and Laura — two former fertility clinic nurses who’ve worked inside the system and now support patients beyond it.

Between the two of us, we’ve seen the monitoring rooms, the medication teaching, the canceled cycles, the quiet hallway tears, and the 9pm portal messages.

We started Fertility Nurses Unfiltered because too many patients leave appointments with more questions than answers.

This podcast is where we say the quiet parts out loud.

No scripts.
No sugarcoating.
No toxic positivity.

Just honest, evidence-based conversations about fertility care.

Episode 1 is recorded.
And we premiere March 3rd. 🎙

Two nurses. One mic. No bullshit.

Can we be honest? We cringe every time we call ourselves “fertility coaches.” 😬

Here’s why: ANYONE can call themselves a coach. There’s no required certification, no credentialing body, and no continuing education needed to use the title.

So when we say “coach,” it doesn’t tell you that we’re former fertility clinic nurses with 20+ years of combined experience. We trained for months before ever working with patients on our own, have worked with numerous clinics and physicians, and have helped thousands of patients navigate every path and situation imaginable.

Our support is rooted in nursing.

And we’re not alone! At ASRM, we talked with so many clinicians who feel the same way about the term. For a lot of providers, it’s a big reason they hesitate to recommend fertility support outside the clinic.

So when you’re looking for support, ask:
✔️ What’s your background and training?
✔️ Where does your knowledge come from?
✔️ Do you work alongside my medical team, or against it?

The right support should complement your care, not replace it.

🎙️ The Fertility Nurses Unfiltered Season 1 Finale is LIVE! Listen wherever you get your podcasts or via link in bio.

💬 How do you feel about the term “coach”? Tell us below 👇

A blood test for endometriosis?! 👀

This was one of the coolest things we learned about at #ASRM.

Right now, diagnosing endometriosis usually means a laparoscopy (surgery) or a biopsy. But with unexplained infertility on the rise, more and more patients are finding out they have endo with NO symptoms, sometimes only after failed transfers.

A blood test that looks at biomarkers could mean:
🩸 Earlier answers, less invasively
⏱️ Less time waiting for a diagnosis
🌱 Potentially better transfer outcomes, because (silent) endo is caught sooner

And then... we came home from ASRM, and one of our clients had already done the test because her clinic switched to it! 🤯

Is it a game changer? We’re cautiously excited. New tests take time, and we want to see more data on accuracy (false positives and negatives matter!). But it’s a big step toward getting patients answers faster and less invasively. As always, talk to your doctor about whether it’s right for you.

Staying on top of what’s new, what’s coming, and what’s actually backed by evidence is a huge part of what we do, because it means YOU get the most up-to-date support.

🎙️ The Fertility Nurses Unfiltered Season 1 Finale is OUT NOW! We’re sharing more ASRM takeaways, our favorite moments from Season 1, and a sneak peek at what’s next in 2027. It’s the perfect way to close out a year of so much growth.

$4,000 for a “guaranteed pregnancy”… that unfortunately ended with no baby and no refund.

This story stopped us in our tracks. A patient paid SO much money for fertility “coaching” that promised a pregnancy within a year. What she got was unlimited emails and one 3-hour phone call. That’s it.

In an unregulated “coaching” industry, unfortunately we hear these stories more than most… and more than we’d like to.

As former fertility clinic nurses, here are the red flags we want YOU to watch for when vetting fertility support:

🚩 Anyone promising a guaranteed outcome
🚩 Success rates that sound way too good to be true
🚩 A high price tag with no clear credentials or refund policy

If one program truly had the answer to infertility, fertility clinics wouldn’t need to exist. Protect your heart AND your wallet.

We’re getting totally unfiltered about this and more in the Fertility Nurses Unfiltered Season 1 Finale, dropping TOMORROW! 🎙️ Don’t miss it!!

And if you’re looking for support you can actually trust, that’s exactly why we built @rootedfertility_co. No guarantees, no gimmicks, just two former fertility clinic nurses (@laura_fertilityrn + @ashlee_fertilityrn) offering 1:1 support and a community that walks with you through every step.

If you’re in the thick of TTC, IUI, or IVF and want nurse-led fertility support that feels personal, we’d love to meet you.

To everyone who has ever trusted us with their story: thank you. This is our why.

This past week @ashlee_fertilityrn & @laura_fertilityrn were at #ASRM2026... the biggest fertility conference of the year!

Learning, catching up with old friends, making new ones, and co-hosting a breakfast with @stims_wellness for our fellow IVF nurses, NPs, and coordinators. What a whirlwind, but we wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else.

Buuut we’re still terrible at social media and didn’t take nearly enough pics 😅 Here’s a little peek!

So much love to: @infertileafstories, Jen Straub from @pozitivfertility, @jds.seattle / @fertilenutrition, @tleischerbono from @emdserono, @drivfmargulies, and @charlit7287

If you aren’t tagged, it’s not that we don’t love you (because we do!)… we were just too busy living in the moment to grab a pic.

Home, tired, and so excited for what’s ahead! 🩶

Not every fertility journey ends with a baby, and the people who walk out of the clinic without one are too often left with no roadmap and no one to talk to. Lana Manikowski knows that feeling, and she built the support she wished she’d had. Meet our newest co.mmunity resource: @lana.manikowski 🤍

Lana is a certified life coach, author, and podcast host helping women who are childless after infertility stop feeling incomplete and start thriving again. After seven years of IUI and IVF, she left her clinic in 2018 with no resources and no next step, so she wrote the book she needed: the bestselling “So Now What?” She also offers private coaching through her Three-Step Thrive Method and hosts The So Now What? Podcast.

If you’re in the thick of treatment, you might not be ready for this conversation yet, and that’s okay. If you’re already here, or someone you love is, know there is life, meaning, and joy on the other side of infertility.

Support for the end of the road deserves just as much care as support for the beginning. That’s why Lana is part of our resource library.

Come meet her (and the rest of our co.mmunity resources) inside!

You don’t need 15 supplements and a total life overhaul to be proactive about your fertility. 🙅‍♀️

Social media makes it feel like you have to take this, cut that, and flip your whole world upside down. But in Episode 35 of Fertility Nurses Unfiltered, Dr. Alison Peck, MD, FACOG (@alisonpeckmd) of @hrcfertilityvalleyregion brings it back to the basics: quality sleep, whole foods, daily movement, calming your nervous system, and being intentional with your time. She also has some real talk about taking supplements without guidance. 👀

As fertility nurses, we’ll say it louder for the people in the back: small, intentional swaps > overcomplicating everything. It’s simpler than the internet makes it seem.

What makes a great fertility clinic?

Bright and early Monday morning, Stims Wellness and @rootedfertility_co brought together nurses from fertility clinics across the country who were in Baltimore for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) conference.

We are so grateful for the incredible work these nurses do every day to help fertility patients feel supported, informed, and cared for throughout their journeys.

Our conversations were an important reminder that no two fertility journeys are alike. Every patient brings different needs, challenges, and emotions, and the role nurses play in navigating those experiences cannot be overstated.

For those who have gone through fertility treatment, what do you remember most about a nurse who cared for you?
