🎶 Stretch it. Blend it. READ IT! 🌱📚

Sometimes, the secret to blending is simply learning to STRETCH those sounds!

During our tutoring session, we practiced stretching each sound and connecting them smoothly, almost like singing a little song, until we could hear the whole word.

No rushing! No guessing! Just stretching, connecting, and building confidence one word at a time! 💚💛

When scholars learn to stretch their sounds, blending starts to make sense!

🚨 PARENTS, THIS ONE SMALL CHANGE CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN YOUR SCHOLAR’S READING JOURNEY! 📚🌱

Instead of always asking, “What letter is this?” try asking, “What SOUND does this letter make?”

Knowing letter names is important, but connecting letters to their sounds is what helps our little learners begin to decode, blend, and READ! 🔤

Think about it: When your scholar sees the word CAT, knowing the names C-A-T alone won’t help them read it. But knowing the sounds /c/ /a/ /t/ allows them to blend those sounds together and discover the word!

That’s where the magic begins! ✨

POV: Your kindergarten teacher is Jamaican, so even syllables have a little island flavor! 🇯🇲🥁😂

Who said learning syllables had to be boring?! Today, we brought out the drum, added a little patois, and turned our phonics lesson into a whole Jamaican experience!

We don’t just clap syllables over here… WE DRUM DEM OUT! 🥁🇯🇲

Learning should be engaging, memorable, and FUN! These scholars will never forget how to break words into syllables!
