18 months to the day, May 12th will be my last day with the AWESOME GREEN #RAINWATER INFRASTRUCTURE team at the City of Vancouver.

Through my many site visits and field reviews, I’ve had the opportunity to gain in depth knowledge of Infiltration Trenches, Rainwater Tree Trenches, Bioretention, and Absorbent Asphalt & other typologies. Working with external contractors for construction sequencing in the City right of way, quality control and design itterations.
Projects in order-ish.

What a privilege to grow old together, he’s somewhere between 12-14 now 🥲. And while health problems plagued us both over the last year +, so lucky to still have this handsomest goodest boy by my side. I hope we have many more sunsets and sniffs together.

Well the boss dog and I took our trusty #Toyota to the incredible #SUNSHINECOAST #britishcolumbia for an interview. We had the chance to support many small businesses, from the local pet store in #Sechelt to the #butcher who had the awesome veggies from @heartandsolcoastalfarm. While our business offerings change, we will continue to support #smallbusiness #localfarmers. Rooted Wild celebrates 4+ years in business and with that some tough decisions must be made. We will be scaling back our on-site installs and small projects and growing the design and consulting offerings. For 4 years we’ve continued to support local small business, stand by our ethics and quality as well as do our best to honour our indigenous friends and community in our designs & education. We will never sacrifice our commitment to the environment or the land in order to make a profit. But we can not compete with the Amazons or keep up with the boys club, that was never our intention.

This decision was not easy and there is much grief in this moment, and I will allow myself to sit in it for as long as it takes to move forward. Almost 2 years ago I suffered some health issues which continue to confuse doctors to this day, making it increasingly more and more difficult for me to walk. Add to it a senior dog with new and rapid health issues, we must retreat and gather strength to move forward.

@dogtraining_nearme will also be on pause.

Thank you for reading this far, please consider bringing us on any cool projects in the future. And being with us on this ever changing journey.
