Overnight update for our North American teams. Just about 4:30 AM local time in Corsica, and our teams continue to make their way through this trek. This is a heckuva stage and it shows. Some trackers haven’t pinged in hours so take all locations with a grain of salt.

We will be up early to check the trackers, share video, and update everyone.

Keep it rolling!

News from Andrea at TA 4 -- around 8am local, 2am eastern (I know because I made the mistake of looking at my phone when I woke up a little while later), Rootstock came off the water with stories of low grade sleepies and a magical night sky.

Five hours later, they're now in the middle of the first crux stage of the race: a monster trek into the high peaks of the Mountain in the Sea.

The Rootstock team was in the first wave to take on the prologue this morning — an orienteering course through Corte’s storied citadel, a fifteenth-century castle that was fortified by the French military in 1769.

Each team was joined by two students from local schools. For Rootstock, they added great energy and a little bit of a language boost with the French-speaking volunteers!

It sounds like on the start line tomorrow, teams will depart in 20-second increments, based on their prologue times. The first stage is a mad dash on foot to TA1, where they’ll receive their maps for the first several stages of the race.

First in line for check-in, alongside @bendracing — a couple hours of gear and skills checks later, and registration is complete!

Next up for the team, a field trip to Ajaccio, Corisica’s capital and Napoleon’s hometown. Then a day of chill before the pre-race festivities kick off in earnest. by @rootstockracing

The eyes of adventure racing will be on Corsica next week for the @arworldseries World Champs, but for those looking for some dots to watch a little bit closer to home, there's some great North American racing before and after!

This weekend, we'll be cheering on all the teams at @wildernesstraverse , Canada's de facto national champs. Expect great media coming out of that one from @wilberleek and @darkzonepodcast.

At the end of October, keep your eyes on Epic Traverse in Hidalgo, Mexico from Teenek Racing. We haven't done this one, but we've heard great things.

And in between, racers will descend on Oregon's Diamond Lake for the @usadventureracing National Championship and the @arwsnorthamerica Regional Champs, hosted by @bendracing. Bend has a great visual media team lined up for that one, and Brian Gatens and Abby Perkiss will be on site cooking up some audio storytelling.

Three cheers for fall racing! For everyone watching from home, do you have the popcorn ready? by @rootstockracing
