Hi, I’m Sahra, the heart behind ROOTZ:frequency. When I moved to this city, I felt a little lost, uprooted, searching for somewhere to land. Somewhere warm, familiar, soft. I missed the joy of shared laughter, the comfort of being surrounded by people who just get it, the rhythm of music, food, culture and connection, all without needing to explain a thing. So I created a space — for us, for black people and people of colour to gather, breathe and vibe. A space to root yourself, to connect with others who move through the world like you do, and to grow a network that nourishes and uplifts. Although centred around black people and people of colour, the door is open to all who move with respect, joy and love in their hearts. This is ROOTZ:frequency. A space to feel grounded, to feel seen, to feel joy … loudly, and without permission. 🌿 Not every space will centre you - and that’s the point. At ROOTZ:frequency, we centre Black and POC joy, voices, and community, as we were always meant to.
 To centre those long pushed to the margins is not exclusion. It is restoration. It is reclamation. It is the tending of sacred ground. If discomfort arises when you’re not centered, we invite you to reflect:


🌿 How often have you been centred by default?
🌿 What does allyship demand when the story is not yours to lead?
🌿 Can you honour a space without needing to reshape it around yourself? “When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.” At ROOTZ:frequency, we are rooted in truth, in love, and in boundary.
