Sometimes the project doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes you just need to swap out the expected for a colour that makes you happy.

That little piece left over from your project? KEEP IT.

Rope scraps are basically an excuse to make something tiny. A keychain, a tassel, a zipper pull… or whatever else you can dream up with the piece you have left.

Plus, there’s something deeply satisfying about using up the very last bit.

There’s measuring… and then there’s maker measuring.

Measure twice. Look at it for a suspiciously long time. Measure again. Move it slightly. Measure one more time just to be safe.

“I’m just looking” has probably been responsible for a LOT of rope purchases. 😂

You see a colour. You start thinking about what you could make with it. Suddenly there’s a whole project taking shape in your head and leaving without it seems irresponsible.

We saw empty yarn cones. The kids at Arts For All saw possibilities.

Instead of heading for the recycling bin, these cones made their way to @artsforallco, where they were transformed into some seriously creative works of art.

Arts For All is a charitable organization doing wonderful things through creativity, and we’re so happy that something as simple as our leftover cones could find a second life in their hands.

We think the kids definitely had the better idea!

Okay, matching your rope to your ride is a level of commitment we can absolutely get behind.

@tyingitforward took the red-and-black theme beyond the vehicle itself, and the result looks like it was meant to be there.

Now we need to know: has anyone else ever chosen rope colours specifically to match something they own?

A balanced creative diet is very important. 😂

Start with the tiny project you swear will only take a few minutes. Follow it with the project you actually intended to work on. Add something you saw online and immediately decided you needed to try.

Then, obviously, finish with a little shopping for the next project. That’s dessert.

@freespiritdesigns2018 took rope off the craft table and turned it into a full-on interior design moment. The texture, the knots, the way the light comes through it… we could stare at this one for a while.
